India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have been in the headlines since the duo got engaged in August last year. While Yuzvendra Chahal is a front-line spinner of Team India, Dhanashree Verma is a graduated dentist, YouTuber, Choreographer, and founder of Dhanashree Verma Company on Instagram.
Dhanashree is 24 years old dentist who interned at Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital. She is also a trained dancer from the famous dance academy of Shiamak Davar. She is now a professional dancer who posts her dance videos on social media and also takes dance classes. She was also popular on TikTok before it got banned in India.

The couple shared their love story during an interview. They revealed how their friendship turned into a love interest. While taking dance classes from Dhanashree during the COVID-19 lockdown, the duo came closer and got engaged in a few month’s time on 8 August 2020. While revealing Dhanashree said, “It started off as a student-teacher relationship in April. He had seen my dance videos on YouTube and knew about my work. During the lockdown, Yuzi decided to learn a few new things, including dance. So, he got in touch with me and we started our classes. Slowly we became friends and sort of felt a connect.”

Yuzvendra never shies away from expressing his deep love for his lady. And, the lockdown gave them a lot of time to know and understand each other as companions. She said, “Yuzi is humble, down-to-earth, friendly, and a total family guy. His humility bowled me over. The kind of values I’ve been brought up with, I actually wanted someone like him as my life partner.” She continued, “We both are ambitious and are supportive of each other’s profession. We both are fun-loving, so there’s never going to be a dull moment.”

After knowing each other for a couple of months, they revealed their love to their parents. Their families met and agreed. The Indian leg spinner took to social media on 8th August 2020 and surprised everyone when he posted pictures with his fiance. He announced the Roka ceremony and captioned, “We said “Yes” along with our families.”

The couple announced their engagement on August 8 last year and tied the knot on December 22, 2020. To share this news with the fans, Yuzvendra tweeted an image with the caption, “We said “Yes” along with our families❤️ #rokaceremony.” Chahal also shared pictures of the sangeet and captioned, “Meet my queen Sangeet day #DhanaSaidYuz”.

Not only this but on Instagram, the two of them have also shared pictures from their ceremony. They both captioned the image the same as, “22.12.20 We started at “Once upon a time” and found “Our happily ever after,” coz’ finally, #DhanaSaidYuz for infinity & beyond!!” The bride in a beautiful red lehenga and the cricketer opted for a cream-colored sherwani.

After getting engaged to Chahal, she also traveled to United Arab Emirates (UAE) where the cricketer played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Dhanashree and Chahal took some time off and visited one of Dubai’s famous beaches. The duo shared the same picture from the beach on social media.
