In a significant move, the team has chosen to let go of star English all-rounder Ben Stokes, who was acquired for a hefty sum of Rs 16.25 crore. Also departing from the squad are Kyle Jamieson, Sisanda Magala, Bhagath Varma, Shubranshu Senapati, Akash Singh, and Ambati Rayudu, the latter having declared his retirement earlier this year.

CSK Fans Rejoice as Dhoni Retains Leadership

CSK fans have reason to rejoice with the announcement of retained players, ensuring another season with Dhoni leading the team. Following the victory in the IPL 2023 final against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, Dhoni mentioned that he would decide on his future with CSK after evaluating his fitness.

After experiencing immense love and support this year, it would be simple for me to express gratitude, but the real challenge lies in putting in the hard work for another nine months and returning to play at least one more IPL season. The decision heavily relies on the condition of my body, and I have 6-7 months to make up my mind. Consider it a gift from my side – it’s not an easy choice for me, but it’s a gesture in response to the incredible love and affection they’ve shown. That’s something I feel I owe to them, Dhoni stated following the final.
