The film was released on OTT in the south and Hindi languages. The music director of the film Devi Sri Prasad told in an interview with ET times that there had been a controversy with the song, a member of a political party reportedly said that a devotional song has been converted to an Item number, to which the director responded that for him it was just a song, he does not categorize a song into love, item or devotional song while composing a song. He also added that the comment from the political people was unnecessary.

There have been mixed reactions to the music video and the song “Oo Antava” on the Internet. Samantha fans were awestruck when they saw her grooving to an Item number, some found it sensual and sensational and some were against this image of her.
