Pawan Kalyan is an Indian politician, philanthropist, and Bollywood actor who was born Konidela Kalyan Babu on September 2, 1968. Almost all of his films got made in Telugu. Kalyan, the younger brother of actor-politician Chiranjeevi, made his cinematic debut in 1996 with the film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. In 1998, he acted in Tholi Prema, a Telugu film that received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.

Kalyan is well-known for his roles in films like Gokulamlo Seeta, Suswagatham, Tholi Prema, Thammudu, Badri, Kushi, Jalsa, Gabbar Singh, Gopala Gopala, and Attarintiki Daredi, and his fans refer to him as a “Power Star.” For Gabbar Singh, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu, and Attarintiki Daredi was the highest-grossing Telugu film at the time. In 2013, he got a rank of 26 on Forbes India’s list of the top 100 celebrities, 69th in 2017, and 24th in 2018.
He makes films under the banners of Anjana Productions and Pawan Kalyan Creative Works. Kalyan first entered politics in 2008 as the president of the Praja Rajyam Party’s youth wing, which his brother Chiranjeevi founded. Chiranjeevi resigned after the party merged with the Congress party. In March 2014, Kalyan founded the Jana Sena Party. During that time, he was the most searched Indian celebrity politician on Google.

Konidela Kalyan Babu was born on September 2, 1968, in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, to Konidela Venkata Rao and Anjana Devi. His younger brothers are Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu. He began using the moniker “Pawan” after a martial arts demonstration. Moreover, he intended to demonstrate his training as he has a black belt in karate. Besides that, he’s also the uncle of Ram Charan, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, and Allu Arjun.

Kalyan made his acting debut in 1996 with Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. His second film, Gokulamlo Seeta, got released the following year. Following that, he appeared in A. Karunakaran’s Tholi Prema (1999), which won the National Award as well as six Nandi Awards. Following Tholi Prema, Kalyan starred as a kickboxer in Thammudu. Thammudu, written and directed by P. A. Arun Prasad, got released on July 15, 1999. Badri, Puri Jagannadh’s first directorial effort, premiered on April 20, 2000.
The film got produced by T. Trivikrama Rao, and the music got composed by Ramana Gogula. In 2001, he made his acting debut in the film Kushi. The film got directed by S. J. Suryah and got released on April 27, 2001, becoming a huge blockbuster that year. There must be a citation.   • Praja Rajyam Party Kalyan entered politics in 2008 as the head of Yuvarajyam, the youth wing of the Praja Rajyam Party founded by his elder brother Chiranjeevi.
  • Jana Sena Party On March 14, 2014, Kalyan established the Jana Sena Party. He wrote a book called Ism, which was also the Jana Sena party’s creed. He met with Narendra Modi, the then-BJP Prime Ministerial candidate, to talk and show his support for issues affecting both Telugu states.

Brand endorsements 

  •  Pepsi announced him as its brand ambassador in April 2001, making him the first South Indian to endorse the iconic soft drink.
  • Kalyan consented to become the brand spokesperson for handloom weavers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in January 2017.

Pawan Kalyan First marriage

Kalyan married Nandini in 1997, one year after his film debut. Kalyan and co-star Renu Desai started dating in 2001, and their son Akira Nandan was born in 2004. In June 2007, Nandini filed a bigamy suit against Kalyan, saying that he remarried without divorcing her. Kalyan responded by saying that he had not married Desai and that he had gotten cleared of the charge by a magistrate court in Visakhapatnam due to a lack of proof.
Following that, in July 2007, Kalyan moved for divorce in Visakhapatnam’s family court, alleging that Nandini abandoned him soon after their marriage, which her attorney denied. Their divorce got finalized in August 2008, with Kalyan paying an Rs. 5 crore one-time alimony payment.

After eight years of living together, Kalyan married Desai in 2009. Aadya, their daughter, was born in 2010. The pair divorced in 2012 after ten years of marriage. Desai stated in an interview in 2018 that Kalyan “insisted on a divorce despite her first protests.”
She also stated that Kalyan turned down her plea to make a public declaration regarding their divorce. During the filming of Teen Maar, Kalyan met his third wife, Russian citizen Anna Lezhneva (2011). They married in September 2013 at a Sub-Registrar Office in Hyderabad under the Special Marriage Act. Polena Anjana Pawanona and Mark Shankar Pawanovich are the couple’s children.
