Woman slams her bf with breakup after knowing he doesn’t use Toilet paper

In a quirky twist of relationship drama, a woman recently called it quits with her boyfriend, discovering an unusual deal-breaker – his aversion to using toilet paper. This seemingly mundane household choice became the unexpected catalyst for the breakup, raising eyebrows and generating humorous discussions online. As couples navigate the complexities of cohabitation, this peculiar breakup sheds light on the diverse dynamics that can lead to unexpected turns in romantic relationships. Dive into the amusing details of this breakup tale and the peculiar reasons that can influence matters of the heart.

Toilet paper

The Bizarre Break up

The couple parted ways when the woman discovered that her boyfriend refrained from using toilet paper after defecation. The revelation unfolded through a TikTok video, where the woman recounted the incident, revealing her surprise upon finding no toilet paper in her partner’s residence during a restroom visit.

Yet, she initially dismissed the issue, casually informing him about the toilet paper shortage. However, suspicions arose when, upon revisiting him days later, she discovered the persistent absence of toilet paper. His explanation, claiming forgetfulness in restocking, left her uneasy. The truth surfaced during a joint grocery shopping trip, where she encouraged him to purchase toilet paper. Defiant, he declined, confessing to not using toilet paper and opting for wet wipes instead when questioned.

Toilet paper

He had Baby wipes

TikTok user Alexandra Maria Clara, known as @withlovefromalex, shared a collaborative video with Jess Jacobsen to recount a nightmarish dating encounter that prompted her to end the relationship. Describing the experience, she disclosed, “I went to his house and I had to use his restroom and he had no toilet paper in the bathroom.” Assuming he had run out, she informed her date, who thanked her and acknowledged the need to buy some from the supermarket.

Fortunately, Alex had baby wipes and tissues on hand, allowing her to address the issue. However, a week later, she encountered the same problem once more.

On her second visit, Alex encountered a surprising bathroom situation—no toilet paper. The date apologized, citing forgetfulness. Later at Target, when she suggested buying some, he boldly declared he didn’t use toilet paper but opted for wet wipes. Despite Alex’s offer to purchase, he staunchly refused. Eventually, Alex took matters into her own hands, buying and stashing toilet paper in her car, resorting to fetching a roll when needed. The situation escalated to this quirky solution, revealing an unexpected twist in their budding relationship.

Social media outburst on Toilet paper scam

The viral post prompted an influx of comments as people shared their opinions on Alex’s toilet paper saga. One TikTok user speculated, “Is it just me or does anyone feel like he just simply doesn’t use anything at all.” Another commenter expressed, “The way I just would’ve bought the TP and went straight home,” A third questioned, “Why wouldn’t you dump him immediately?” A fourth emphasized, “It’s not just toilet paper people, it’s about hospitality and caring for others and making sure you prioritize them and make them comfortable.” Lastly, a commentator concluded, “This is THE best example of ‘do it for the plot’.”

As the tale unfolded on TikTok, social media users couldn’t help but weigh in on the unusual breakup saga. Some questioned the hygiene practices, while others found humor in the absurdity of the situation. The comments section turned into a lively debate on relationship deal-breakers, showcasing the diversity of perspectives on what makes or breaks a romance. Amidst the laughter, the story serves as a reminder that the quirkiest aspects of cohabitation can sometimes become unexpected hurdles in love. With every comment, the digital audience echoed the sentiment that, indeed, in matters of the heart, even the most trivial choices can steer a relationship toward uncharted territories.

Gibbs drops ferocious reply after a fan compares him with Temba Bavuma

Cricketing legend Herschelle Gibbs recently found himself in the midst of a social media storm when a fan drew comparisons between him and South African cricketer Temba Bavuma. Unfazed by the comment, Gibbs delivered a fierce retort, igniting a fiery exchange. The incident not only sparked heated discussions among cricket enthusiasts but also shed light on the dynamics of fan interactions with former players in the digital age. The exchange unfolds a compelling narrative of how the cricketing community navigates the realm of opinions and comparisons on social media platforms.

Gibbs

Gibbs defending Bavuma

South African captain Temba Bavuma is under intense scrutiny, particularly in the context of the ICC World Cup 2023. Despite leading his team to the semi-finals against Australia, Bavuma’s challenges have sparked concerns, casting doubt on his captaincy.

Mitchell Starc, the formidable left-arm pacer, emerged as Bavuma’s nemesis, dismissing him for a duck and marking his ninth loss in the competition. Recent scores of 23, 11, 24, 28, 16, 35, and 8 have contributed to a total of 145 runs in 8 matches, resulting in an average of 18.12. These figures fall significantly below expectations for a leader navigating his side through the pinnacle of a World Cup.

After Bavuma’s dismissal in the World Cup semi-final against Australia, cricket commentators worldwide expressed their disappointment. Numerous former cricket players and fans openly criticized his performance, questioning his ability to lead the team in such a crucial tournament.

Unfortunately, South Africa experienced an early exit in the semi-finals of the World Cup 2023, leaving fans and pundits in disbelief. However, the team quickly shifted their focus to the ongoing 3-game ODI series against India.

As South Africa initiated their home series against India, the first game resulted in a defeat, putting them at a 1-0 disadvantage. Notably, Temba Bavuma is absent from the squad in this series.

He has a better strike rate than…

Amidst the criticisms, a passionate fan sought to defend Temba Bavuma by comparing him to the legendary Herschelle Gibbs. The fan shared a post asserting, “Fun Fact: Temba Bavuma averages more than the great Herschelle Gibbs in both ODI and T20 cricket…” and added, “Has a better strike rate too.”

However, Herschelle Gibbs promptly responded to the tweet, delivering a witty retort. Gibbs trolled the fan, stating, “Talk to me when he reaches 35 international 100s, until then take a permanent holiday on twitter… bye now 😂😂.” This interaction injected a spicy twist into the ongoing discussions surrounding Bavuma’s performance.

As the fiery exchange between Herschelle Gibbs and a defending fan unfolds, cricket enthusiasts find themselves immersed in the dynamic world of social media debates. The digital age has brought fans closer to their cricketing idols, giving rise to spirited discussions and comparisons. The Herschelle-Temba clash showcases the passion and fervor of fans, highlighting the evolving landscape of fan-player interactions. What are your thoughts on this social media storm? Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings Vs IPL auction 2024

The IPL 2024 auction played out as a captivating blockbuster, filled with surprising twists and turns that had fans eagerly anticipating each moment! With astonishing player bids and fierce rivalries among franchises, the Dubai auction set the stage for an exhilarating start to the IPL frenzy.

However, in the midst of the heart-pounding moments, Punjab Kings (PBKS) injected an unexpected twist into the narrative. In a scenario resembling a comedy of errors, PBKS inadvertently secured Shashank Singh, a 32-year-old uncapped player from Chattisgarh who was previously associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite going unsold in the prior auction, fate took a humorous turn as PBKS unintentionally embraced him into their squad. While the franchise initially celebrated this surprise addition, team owners Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta soon recognized the blunder. It appeared they had mistaken Shashank for another player, but auction regulations prevented them from rectifying the decision.

Thus, as Shashank revels in the financial gains of this surprising contract, he begins the season aware that the franchise initially didn’t have him in mind but rather another namesake. In response, the internet, consistent with its character, exploded with memes and playful jokes at both the player and the overall blunder. Here are some glimpse from the social media outburst.

Unintended Bid Leaves Fans in Laughter

The mix-up occurred in the fast-paced bidding phase as Shashank’s name resonated in the auction hall, leading auctioneer Mallika Sagar to initiate the bidding war. Unintentionally, Punjab Kings found themselves as the exclusive bidders for Shashank, securing his services in Dubai. However, the realization of the mistake dawned on Wadia and Preity Zinta right after the hammer sealed the deal. Despite their efforts to correct the error, Mallika Sagar highlighted the auction rule that once the hammer falls, the decision is final.

Positively, Shashank contributes a T20 track record of 55 matches, showcasing an impressive performance with 724 runs and a striking strike rate of 135.83, along with 15 wickets.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the auction frenzy, the team made its most significant purchase with Harshal Patel, acquiring him for a staggering Rs. 11.75 crore, injecting an additional layer of thrill into this IPL rollercoaster.

As the IPL saga unfolds, the Punjab Kings’ spokesperson spills the beans on the hilarious auction mishap and the team’s spirited comeback plan. The journey continues with Shashank, the unintended star, ready to conquer the T20 arena. Amidst memes and laughs, the excitement peaks with Harshal Patel’s colossal acquisition. What’s your take on this cricket rollercoaster? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned for the exhilarating twists and turns of the upcoming IPL season!

Dance on rails

Embracing public transportation as a dance floor is a trend captivating many Indians, while it sparks frustration in others. Despite the minimal crowd, passengers seemed visibly bothered, as seen in the clip. Users are getting furious over this nuisance

The video sparked anger among viewers, with the majority criticizing the girl for causing a ‘disturbance’ within public transport. Meanwhile, some found the nearby man’s reaction amusing. Calls for stringent action against the woman and the necessity for regulations on such activities were voiced. The video, posted two days ago, amassed 75.1K views from viewers.

In the comments section, viewers shared their perspectives. A user raised an intriguing point, questioning the stark contrast between videos depicting overcrowded @indianrailway__ bogies and the relatively empty sleeper-class bogie in this video. A second user humorously identified someone named Puneet as a “superstar” observing from behind. The subsequent comment urged, “This is just so wrong, strict actions should be taken against her.” Another individual inquired, “What is even happening to people these days?”

Examples of potential ABPs include military personnel, pilots, firefighters, police officers, and doctors. Particularly valuable in medical situations or when the captain requires assistance in landing due to an emergency or security breach.

In the initial ODI of the 2015 series between India and Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, an unsightly incident unfolded. In the 25th over of the Indian innings, it appeared that Mustafizur advanced toward Dhoni, who sought to secure a single.

Following the incident, Dhoni notably pushed Mustafizur with his forearm. Subsequently, Mustafizur incurred a 50 percent fine of his match fees, while Dhoni faced a 75 percent fine. Setting aside the controversy, the match left an indelible mark on Mustafizur’s career as he achieved a memorable five-wicket haul on his debut.

Mustafizur’s Debut ODI – remarkable 5 wickets

Being the sole Bangladeshi player in the auction, Mustafizur stood alone after reports indicated that Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed chose not to participate. The seamer holds the distinction of being the lone foreign cricketer to secure the Emerging Player of the IPL. In 2016, he clinched the award following Sunrisers Hyderabad’s triumph over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final.

CSK DHONI

Presently in New Zealand, Mustafizur actively participates in the ongoing three-match ODI series. The seamer has steadfastly anchored the Tigers’ pace attack for the past nine years.

Regarding CSK, they hold the title of defending champions, securing victory in the final against the Gujarat Titans last year at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

As Mustafizur Rahman embarks on his journey with CSK, the team warmly embraces him, acknowledging the past while anticipating a promising future. Fans eagerly await the unfolding dynamics, curious about Mustafizur’s integration into the CSK family. With memories of the clash receding, a new chapter begins, fostering camaraderie and anticipation for what lies ahead in the upcoming IPL season. As CSK defends its champion status, the stage is set for a thrilling season, uniting fans in excitement for the cricketing spectacle.

In a surprising turn of events, India’s Vice President finds himself at the center of controversy as a Member of Parliament mimics him. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi captures the incident on video. Describing the act as ‘shameful,’ the Vice President’s reaction has ignited a political storm. Join us as we unravel the details of this unexpected episode, exploring the dynamics between political figures and the impact of such incidents on the political landscape in India.

Parliamentary Mimicry Sparks Controversy

A day after a video from Parliament showed Trinamool Congress leader Kalyan Banerjee playfully mimicking the Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar stated that he won’t tolerate any insult to Parliament and the post he holds. In response, the TMC MP remarked that mimicry was an art, highlighting that even the Prime Minister indulges in it.

On Tuesday, in a video clip, Banerjee, surrounded by other Opposition leaders, was seen playfully impersonating the Rajya Sabha Chairperson, saying: “My spine is so straight, I’m so tall,” with Rahul Gandhi appearing to record the lighthearted moment.

Jagdeep Dhankhar breaks silence on his mimicry video made by Rahul Gandhi

It all began on Tuesday when a video from Parliament surfaced, capturing TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee playfully mimicking Jagdeep Dhankhar, while Rahul Gandhi recorded the amusing moment. Dhankhar, in response, termed the act as “shameful, ridiculous, and unacceptable.”

Jagdeep Dhankhar Condemns Rahul Gandhi ‘s Videography

When the Rajya Sabha resumed its session around noon, Dhankhar, speaking to a Congress leader, remarked, “Just a while ago I saw on a television channel that there is no limit to how low one can stoop (girawat ki koi hadh nai hai). Your senior leader (Rahul Gandhi) was found shooting a video of an unparliamentary act of one of the suspended MPs, sitting out on protest… I just want to say that good sense (sadbuddhi) may prevail on them.”

Speaking about Rahul Gandhi, Dhankhar mentioned, “Office of Chairman, Rajya Sabha and Office of Speaker are very different. Political parties will have their cross currents, they will have exchanges, but imagine a senior leader of your party videographing another member of another party… Mimicry of the Chairman, mimicry of Speaker. How ridiculous, how shameful, how unacceptable.”

During a conversation with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern over the “abject theatrics” displayed by some MPs. President Murmu, taking to X on Wednesday, conveyed her dismay at the way our esteemed Vice President was subjected to humiliation in the Parliament complex. In her post, President Murmu emphasized the importance of elected representatives expressing themselves freely but within the boundaries of dignity and courtesy. She highlighted that upholding these norms is a proud parliamentary tradition, and the people of India expect their representatives to preserve it.

PM Modi Expresses Concern Over MPs’ Theatrics in Parliament

In a phone call, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed deep concern over the “abject theatrics” displayed by certain Honorable MPs in the sacred Parliament complex. The Vice President’s Secretariat shared this information, underlining the PM’s distress regarding the conduct of some MPs during the mentioned incident. “Received a telephone call from the Prime Minister, @narendramodi Ji. He expressed great pain over the abject theatrics of some Honourable MPs and that too in the sacred Parliament complex yesterday,” PM Secretariat said.

He shared that he has endured such insults for over two decades, emphasizing the unfortunate occurrence wherein it happened to a Constitutional office like the Vice President within the Parliament. Despite this, he added that such incidents wouldn’t deter him from fulfilling his duty. “I told him-Mr. Prime Minister, the antics of a few won’t prevent me from performing my duty and upholding the principles enshrined in our Constitution. I am committed to those values from the bottom of my heart. None of the insults will make me change my path,” he stated.

Jagdeep Dhankhar Condemns Mimicry as displayed in Rahul Gandhi ‘s video

On Wednesday, the Trinamool Congress leader at the center of the controversy mentioned that his intention was never to cause harm to anyone.

“I have no intention to hurt anyone. However, I have a question. Does he (Jagdeep Dhankhar) really behave like this in Rajya Sabha? Mimicry is an art and it was also done by the PM in Lok Sabha between 2014 and 2019,” Kalyan Banerjee added.

In the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his strong stance against any insult directed at Parliament and the position of Vice President. He conveyed deep distress over TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee’s mimicry, emphasizing that such actions, along with their recording, have caused a perceived insult to the dignity of the Vice President’s post, the farming community, and his own community.

As the House reconvened at 11:45 am after the third adjournment, Dhankhar shared his heartfelt concern regarding Tuesday’s incident. He requested the Congress party, including Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, to reflect on the matter. In Dhankhar’s words, “I am not bothered if anyone insults Jagdeep Dhankhar, but I cannot bear that I could not protect the honor of my post. It is my duty to protect the honor of the House.”

Rahul Gandhi breaks silence over mimicry video

Amid the uproar over TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee’s mimicry of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Rahul Gandhi admitted to recording the incident. “MPs were sitting there, I shot their video. My video is on my phone. Media is showing it…Nobody has said anything…150 of our MPs have been thrown out (of the House) but there is no discussion on that in the media. There is no discussion on Adani, no discussion on Rafale, no discussion on unemployment. Our MPs are disheartened and sitting outside. But you are discussing that (mimicry),” Rahul Gandhi stated.

Expressing concern over the focus on the mimicry incident, he highlighted the lack of media attention on crucial issues like the expulsion of 150 MPs and the absence of discussions on Adani, Rafale, and unemployment.

Starc gives his first reaction on becoming the expensive player in IPL Auction

Expressing astonishment and gratitude, Mitchell Starc reflects on his unprecedented status as the costliest IPL auction buy. The accomplished cricketer articulates the overwhelming nature of this achievement, emphasizing that the reality surpasses anything he could have envisioned. In an exclusive revelation, Starc unveils his sentiments about this significant milestone, offering fans and cricket enthusiasts a glimpse into the unexpected turn of events that astounded him.

IPL 2024 Auction Unfolds for Aussie Fast Bowler

On Tuesday evening, Mitchell Starc experienced nervous anticipation as he monitored the IPL 2024 auction from his home in Sydney. The day had already been eventful for Starc, involving tasks like mowing the lawn, walking the dogs, completing shopping errands, and preparing dinner for himself.

Starc anxiously anticipated the moment when the auction would feature his name in the fourth set, which included capped fast bowlers. Earlier in the auction, his Australian captain and close friend Pat Cummins had secured a deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 20.5 crore (US$2.569 million approximately), surpassing the previous record set by England all-rounder Sam Curran in the 2023 auction and making Cummins the IPL’s most expensive player to date.

Mitchell Starc ‘s Unanticipated Bid Battle in IPL 2024 Auction

In the build-up to the auction, many experts and team owners anticipated that Mitchell Starc would secure the title of the IPL’s most expensive player. After nearly two and a half hours of intense bidding in Dubai, the moment arrived as Player Number 28, Starc, entered the auction.

Starc

What unfolded next surprised Starc and everyone else closely following the auction. The bidding war commenced with Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani and Delhi Capitals counterpart Kiran Gandhe. As the bidding reached INR 9.4 crore, Gandhe withdrew. Kolkata Knight Riders entered the scene at the INR 9.8 crore mark. Given their history, the Knight Riders were seen as favorites to bid for Starc, having signed him for INR 9.4 crore at the 2018 auction, though Starc had to withdraw due to injury.

Starc’s Record-Breaking bid- INR 24.75 Crore

Following Mumbai’s withdrawal, Gujarat Titans engaged in a bidding duel with Knight Riders for Mitchell Starc. The tension escalated as both franchises competed to secure Starc, and the auction room buzzed with excitement when Starc’s bid surpassed that of Pat Cummins. After nearly 17 minutes of intense bidding, Knight Riders successfully acquired Starc for INR 24.75 crore, marking a shift in the title of the IPL’s most expensive player from Cummins to Starc in less than two hours.

Starc, along with his wife Alyssa Healy, who was providing updates from Mumbai during the Australia women’s tour of India, was surprised by the turn of events. In a conversation with Star Sports, Starc expressed his intrigue about how the auction would unfold and admitted he hadn’t expected to make history in such a manner.

“I’m not sure any words would do it justice, really,” Starc chuckled when asked about his reaction to Knight Riders’ winning bid. “Alyssa was over there with the Australian team at the minute, so her coverage was slightly ahead of mine here in Australia. So she sort of saw the numbers before I did, so I was getting the updates through her. But, yeah, a fair bit of shock, and certainly excitement with how it was all unfolding. But nothing that I could’ve ever imagined. Thoroughly thrilled to be joining KKR.”

“It’s a shock for me…”

Starc participated in only two IPL seasons – 2014 and 2015 – with Royal Challengers Bangalore, who acquired him for INR 5 crore. After that, he opted to manage his workload for several years before deciding to enter the auction ahead of the 2018 season. Once again, Knight Riders showed confidence in Starc, investing significant funds in him, believing that he possesses the skills to consistently win matches. These skills include bowling in the 140-150 kph range, generating both conventional and reverse swing, using toe-crushing yorkers to dismiss batters and break stumps, incorporating a deceptive slower ball, all while maintaining the added threat of his left-arm angle. Additionally, his lower-order hitting adds depth to their batting lineup.

Starc

Regrettably, Starc suffered a tibia injury, causing him to miss the 2018 season. However, after six seasons, he expresses joy at the prospect of playing for the Knight Riders again. “Firstly, it’s exciting to be back involved,” he stated. “Secondly, it’s more of a bit of a shock and a surprise, I guess.”

Kolkata Knight Riders Bag Starc and Secure 10 Players at Base Price

Starting the auction with a remaining purse of 32.7 crore and the most slots to fill (12, including four overseas players), the Knight Riders promptly got to work by bidding for West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell, who ultimately joined Rajasthan Royals. The Knight Riders ultimately secured 10 new signings.

Surprisingly, the other nine players were all signed at their base price, demonstrating the Knight Riders’ ability to allocate their purse strategically. As Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore noted after securing Starc, there are various ways to allocate the budget.

However, how does one rationalize a team spending INR 24.75 crore, or 75.69% of the initial purse, on a single player? Starc found the figures amusing. “They are amazing numbers, aren’t they?” He acknowledges the pressure and expectations that will accompany the hefty price tag once the season kicks off.

Yet, he possesses qualities that set him apart: extensive experience and the knowledge of winning World Cups in high-pressure scenarios. “I’m 33 now, so I’ve had to deal with a few ups and downs and pressures of certain games,” he stated. “I would like to think that I can keep that in check, but that always comes with the territory when some of those numbers get added to the anticipation of an upcoming season as well.”

Starc’s Mega IPL Return

“It’s been a long time since I played in IPL in 2014 and ’15 and have obviously played a fair bit of cricket since then. A lot of it for Australia in different formats. There’s been a lot of white-ball cricket there [in India] across a few World Cup campaigns, and so that experience is there and a little bit of leadership if you like, in terms of the experience side of things in white-ball cricket that hopefully I can bring to bring to KKR as well and play my part there. And being able to bowl at different stages I think is something that’s held firm throughout,” he added.

While on the sidelines of the IPL, Starc never experienced any discomfort. He had outlined his priorities, focusing on delivering stellar performances for Australia. His pivotal role in Australia’s historic 2023, including victories in the World Test Championship final, retaining the Ashes, and triumphing over India in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad, showcased his dedication to international cricket.

Starc ‘s IPL Priorities

Starc now feels well-prepared for the IPL. “I’ve probably prioritised international cricket firstly for a long time whilst having a bit of a taste of IPL and Big Bash in Australia,” he stated. “I’ve always held firm that I’ve wanted to play my best cricket for Australia and make myself available for Australia where I can. At the same time, the temptation to go back to IPL and how exciting it is to be involved in such a great tournament, big names, big players, big stages – it’s too hard to pass up. There’s a place to play all of it. it’s just being mindful and putting the work ethic in to be able to do all of it.”

The Eden Gardens also evokes fond memories for Starc. On November 16, he delivered a three-wicket haul and then exhibited resilient batting alongside Cummins in a tense chase of 213 against South Africa in the World Cup semi-finals. “I’m very much looking forward to playing as the home team and experiencing that home crowd [at Eden Gardens],” he expressed.

“Some new colors to pull on and a new challenge to look forward to.” What can the passionate Knight Riders fan anticipate from Starc? “Hopefully, more of the success that I’ve had over some time – swinging the new ball, reversing the old, and trying to smack those wickets.”

Post-Auction Reunion with  Starc

Regarding the immediate future, Starc is eager to catch up with Cummins before training on Wednesday as they prepare to rejoin the rest of the Australia squad in Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan. “It could be an interesting conversation between the bowling group tomorrow and the gym,” he quipped.

Starc

While he and Healy will spend the remainder of 2023 immersed in a “Christmas of cricket” on different continents, Starc is delighted to share the joy he and Cummins have experienced today with the rest of the Australia squad. “The team chat has been going nuts,” he remarked. “The are all saying it’s our shout, so we’ll just go about our business and get ready for the next Test match. But a few of our Australian team-mates might be waiting for us to treat them.”

MI steals during IPL auction 2024

Securing the promising deals among the 10 franchises, MI strategically invested a significant portion of their budget in bowlers, acquiring talents such as South African pacer Gerald Coetzee and Sri Lankan speedster Dilshan Madushanka. Adding to their bowling arsenal, they brought in Nuwan Thushara, whose bowling style mirrors that of their revered coach, Lasith Malinga. The franchise further bolstered their squad with the acquisition of Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi for ₹1.5 crore, alongside signings of Shreyas Gopal (₹20 lakh), Anshul Kamboj (₹20 lakh), Shivalik Sharma (₹20 lakh), and Naman Dhir (₹20 lakh).

Akash Ambani MI IPL 2024 auctions

In yesterday’s IPL auction spectacle, all 10 franchises eagerly scooped up 72 players, shelling out a staggering ₹230.45 crore. Notably, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins secured a whopping combined sum exceeding ₹45 crore, while numerous emerging Indian talents made substantial waves. Amidst the auctioneer Mallika Sagar announcing players on the bidding block, Rohit Sharma’s name resonated, yet intriguingly, it wasn’t in the context of an auction bid for the seasoned cricketer.

Akash Ambani ’s reassuring words to the passionate fan

In a fan-captured video shared by MI on their X handle during a commercial break, an individual from the crowd expressed a desire to convey a message to Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani, who was seated at the auction table. The fan passionately shouted, ‘Bring Rohit Sharma back as captain.’ Responding to this, Anant assured, ‘Don’t worry. He will bat.’ An intriguing exchange that unfolded during the break, shedding light on the fervent fan sentiments and Ambani’s reassuring response.

Since last Friday’s announcement of Rohit Sharma being replaced by Hardik Pandya as captain, the MI fan community has been in uproar. Many have ridiculed Hardik’s appointment, expressing their discontent. The star India all-rounder rejoined the franchise after two seasons with Gujarat Titans, leading them to consecutive finals and a title-winning debut campaign. Reports suggest that the deal materialised only after Hardik insisted on captaincy, a condition MI eventually agreed to.

Mumbai Indian’s Leadership Shift

With five championships, MI stands as one of the IPL’s most successful franchises, sharing the distinction with Chennai Super Kings. The last title victory for MI dates back to 2020. The team’s historical pattern of securing the trophy every alternate year since 2013 took a turn, prompting a change in leadership. MI’s performance in IPL 2022 marked their worst season ever, finishing at the bottom with just four wins from 14 matches.

Rohit Sharma, enduring an unprecedented slump, amassed only 268 runs, marking only the second instance he fell below the 300-run mark in his IPL career.
