Baba Vanga was a highly renowned mystic, clairvoyant and seer. The majority of her life was spent in the Rupite region of the Kozhuh Mountains in Bulgaria. Despite her passing in 1996, the predictions of Baba Vanga are claimed to have been validated long after her demise.
Baba Vanga has gained a following among conspiracy theorists who assert that she prophesied worldwide occurrences well in advance. Often referred to as the “Nostradamus of the Balkans,” Baba Vanga is believed to have foreseen significant global events, including the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the demise of Princess Diana, the Chernobyl disaster, and Brexit.
Some of the prophesies done by Baba Vanga earlier
Baba Vanga possessed partial literacy in Bulgarian, with the ability to read some Braille in Serbian. While she didn’t personally write any books, her statements, or those attributed to her, were documented by staff members. Subsequently, numerous obscure volumes about Vanga’s life and supposed predictions were authored.
During the 1960s, the primary objective of the newly established Institute of Suggestology, which employed her, was to investigate her abilities. According to former Journal Metro columnist Jeff Yates, there is no written evidence of her alleged predictions, but her followers often credit her with making predictions.
Several individuals close to her have asserted that she never actually made some of the predictions attributed to her.

Opponents, however, contend that a significant portion of Baba Vanga’s predictions were ambiguous and could be subject to different interpretations. They propose that her forecasts were frequently adjusted after the fact to align with actual historical occurrences, a phenomenon referred to as “postdiction.” Furthermore, the fact that some of her predictions failed to materialise has heightened doubts and skepticism surrounding her abilities.
Predictions that came true??
Among the predictions ascribed to her by her followers are:
- World War II
- The dissolution of the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia
