Rolls Royce EV worth Rs 9 Cr received by owner in Chappals

In a unique and down-to-earth moment, the first-ever owner of India’s Rolls Royce Spectre EV made headlines by casually donning chappals (slippers) while receiving the luxurious electric car. This unexpected choice of footwear added a touch of relatability to the grand unveiling, sparking curiosity and conversation about the unconventional event.

Rolls Royce welcomed in chappals

Once again, the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” proved true as a man from Chennai stood proudly in front of a new Rolls-Royce Spectre EV, sporting simple clothes and sandals. The British luxury car, not yet officially launched in India, found its way to the fortunate Baashyaam Yuvaraj, a well-known builder with a business named Baashyaam Constructions. This unexpected early delivery caught attention, emphasizing that appearances can be deceiving.

What’s the story?

A photo making rounds on X (previously Twitter) features a user’s post declaring, “Chennai builder secures India’s first Rolls Royce Spectre before the official launch.” Baashyaam Yuvaraj opted for the ‘Wittering Blue’ version of the Rolls-Royce Spectre EV, expected to cost around Rs 9 crore (excluding showroom charges) when it hits the local market.

Ever since the post hit the internet, many users chimed in with their reactions. Some highlighted Baashyaam Yuvaraj’s humble style, while others pointed out intriguing features of the Rolls-Royce Spectre EV.

A user even mentioned, “Irrespective of the wealth and status, all Chennai dudes are dressed like this with those same sandals.”

Another user was amazed by the electric sedan’s price, finding it truly astonishing. When it officially hits the roads, the Rolls-Royce Spectre EV is anticipated to reach a staggering on-road price of around Rs 10 crore.

Someone believes that the Indian government should enhance road quality to provide an excellent driving surface for Rolls-Royce cars. They commented, “We need roads worthy of Rolls Royce cars to start with,”

A week ago, a page called Automobili Ardent posted the first picture of India’s Rolls-Royce Spectre EV on Instagram. The car supposedly arrived at the Chennai International Airport through a cargo plane. This electric sedan is expected to hit the Indian market in 2024.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre, packed with EV-specific features, serves as a modern counterpart to the Phantom. Staying true to Rolls-Royce’s legacy, it boasts the classic illuminated grille that adds a charming ambiance in the dark. Sporting 23-inch wheels, the car maintains a sleek look with a drag coefficient of 0.25cd. The back features stylish vertical tail lights, adding an extra touch of elegance.
