The media didn’t shy away when dating rumors between Tamil actress Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva began. Prabhu Deva had cast Nayanthara in his 2009 directed film, Villu. Initially, they declined the dating rumors, but in 2010, Prabhu Deva confessed his love for her and said he would love to marry her. It turned out they were dating for almost two years by then. It was hard for Latha to digest the situation. In 2010, she sought family court help to resolve the dispute. She demanded to get back with her husband and threatened them with a hunger strike. Many female associations stood with Latha and even conducted protests against Nayanthara. They burned down effigies of her, saying that she is a disgrace to Tamil culture. Finally, in July 2011, Prabhu Deva and Latha’s relationship ended in divorce. She won the children’s custody, and Prabhu Deva settled for visiting rights.

He and Nayanthara started a live-in relationship after his divorce, but things didn’t turn out as they might have planned. They were living in Mumbai, and for that period, Nayanthara had quit her film career and was dependent on Prabhu. However, soon they became distant where she wasn’t happy about Prabhu Deva visiting his kids. According to her, things changed between them. They started to lie to each other to avoid fights. Prabhu Deva also didn’t marry her. According to rumors, he always used to back out of marriage at the last moment. This didn’t carry on for long, and in 2012 both of them made their break-up official.

Things changed

Nayanthara once confessed to a leading daily that break-up was the most challenging phase, and she wants to move on. She said,

“That’s too personal to get into a break-up for anyone is the most difficult phase in their life. When you have to go away from someone you love or vice-versa, whatever the reason, it really shatters your life. But how you deal with it is important. I can’t get into how I dealt with it but I have to if I want to move on and live my life.”

Prabhu Deva is also single at the moment and is also progressing in his career. We hope they both find the love of their life and succeed in their career.
