Top 10 Indian Actress From TV Equally Famous As Bollywood Actresses

Back in the early days of the 2000s, there always was a distinct difference between T.V stars and movie stars. This distinction was in all spheres – their star power, popularity, salary, and fanbase Mostly, consistency and elusiveness were to blame for the difference.
To speak on consistency, barring a few actors, there has always been a barrage of new actors coming in every month, with new T.V. shows. So unless you worked round the clock, odds are the audience would forget about you. This was not the case with movie stars who were already the best of the best and were not easily replaceable by debutants. And speaking of elusiveness, movie stars of the past were somewhat of a closed book. Not much was known about their life and owing to their high status this was taken in by the general public as being mysterious and successful.

In the present age of social media, however, both of these points are now redundant. Now T.V. actors who are done with their show, continue to be in the public eye consistently through YouTube or Instagram, and owing to their ever-increasing popularity, T.V actors stay relevant to the public for a long time. As far as the high status of elusiveness is considered, that also disappeared when this generation’s social media game came to play. A game in which clicks, views, and posts made you more popular and where it was often a career-ending situation to be too unknown to the public.

Presently, owing to T.V’s wide reach in terms of reality, fiction, or competitive shows and the use of social media, there have been a good amount of actresses who are more famous than Bollywood stars. Read to find out more.

‘Bar Mein Army’? Wasim Jaffer Trolls Barmy Army For Taking Dig At Virat Kohli

0

Even though there is still more than a week left at the start of the Test series against England, the action has already begun. Of course, not on the field but on social media. Barmy Army, a group of England cricket team’s supporters’ group ahead of the series, has taken it upon themselves to rile up the Indians. Perhaps that is why they started with their unnecessary comments on social media about Indian cricketers.

However, their recent post on Twitter taking a dig at Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper has backfired. Thanks to a fitting reply from former India opener Wasim Jaffer, they ended up becoming a laughing stock. The so-called Army or the England supporter’s group circulated an old picture of Kohli. In that picture, Virat Kohli had a bow and arrow in his hand and was aiming for the target. That picture also includes Jaffer, who is standing in the background. The Barmy Army captioned its post on the micro-blogging website Twitter, “BREAKING NEWS Virat is out of the upcoming Test series as he’s in Tokyo preparing for the Archery, More to follow. #Tokyo2020.”

As soon as the photo was shared on social media, Jaffer came up with a savage reply and shut them down. He used an epic meme from the movie “Gangs of Wasseypur: Part 2” to give them a befitting reply. As usual, the fans were in complete awe of Jaffer’s sense of humor, who is known for his wit and humor. With the punch line – “Iske pass jo ganja hai woh humko chahiye” (I want the w*ed that he has), he trolled Barmy Army with his caption too as he wrote, “Barmy Army or Bar mein Army?” (Barmy Army or Army in Bar?) with laughing emoji.

Indian supporters can also be hilarious and they don’t shy away when it comes to memes and they never tend to leave any opportunity to participate in a meme fest. And this time was no different. Let’s check out how they reacted:

Barmy Army is quite famous for its tactics of playing mind games by taking jibes at the opposing teams on social media. If you don’t remember, earlier too, they wished the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni on his birthday by reminding him about the match which India lost to England in the ICC World Cup 2019.

Currently, the Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli is in England in order to play a 5-match test series over there starting August 4th, 2021. Since both the teams are pretty strong, there’s no doubt that it’s going to be a tough contest. Also, England will certainly use the home advantage to the maximum.

India played a three-day warm-up game against County Select XI in Durham with a view to give a final shape to their preparations. However, due to minor niggles, skipper Kohli and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane missed the encounter. While Rahane missed the tie because of mild swelling around his left upper hamstring, Kohli had complained of some stiffness in his back. Fortunately, Kohli seems to have recovered, and Rahane is also expected to be fit before the series.

Apart from them, other Indian cricketers such as Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Washington Sundar have also suffered injuries during their warm-up matches. Due to their injuries, Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will be joining the senior team in England soon who are presently in Sri Lanka. Due to the change in the quarantine rules, Jayant Yadav’s name was dropped.

On the other hand, after winning the ODI series by 2-1, the young Indian team that is led by Shikhar Dhawan played their first T20I of the 3-match series against Sri Lanka on 25th July 2021.

MEMEs About School Every Kid Wants To Share With Friends

0

The current pandemic has certainly changed our world. From going out for a simple long drive to catching up with friends over the weekend, everything strangely invokes nostalgia inside us. Perhaps, one of the biggest blows of the pandemic was to the students. From packing the bags with books to sharing the tiffin to the group study meetups, the current state of the world has made all these mundane things seem like a luxury of normality that every student craves.

So, while we all still fight the pandemic and stay safe in our homes, alternate methods of human interactions are the need of the hour, and what could be more efficient and relatable than funny MEMEs about school and college. Continue reading to check out our list of the latest MEMEs about schools and colleges in India that every kid would want to share with their friend.

1) Competition Between Classes

3 idiots virus every teacher ever meme

Ahh yes, the age-old line which every student heard from class 1 up to class 12. The MEME uses a still of “Professor Viru” from the movie “3 Idiots”. This MEME is relatable for all students everywhere. Who doesn’t remember the feeling of completion this one line created between different classes? Be it chart competitions, exams results, or Sports Day, this line was an evergreen favorite of teachers.

2) Changing Seats In Classes For The Musical Chair Effect

Teacher and student meme about school and college

The changing of the seats by the teacher for discipline purposes was a common theme for most students. Granted most of us always preferred to sit with our closest friends, the best thing about school life is that everyone is each other’s friend, so changing the seats did not help in the end.

3) The Ideal Students

Ideal student meme about school

We all know them and we all owe them an apology. This MEME perfectly captures the fate of our dear well behaved and quiet classmates who often had to face punishments for no faults of their own. But as the unofficial motto for every class goes “All for one, and one for all”, if the class gets punished, the entire class gets punished together.

4) Homework Problems

School homework meme

Where words fail, Joey won’t. The MEME which shows “ Joey” from the popular sitcom “ FRIENDS”, makes us think back to all the times students enter a classroom excitedly to start the day, only for someone to remind them of their forgotten homework. In the end, it doesn’t matter how sincere or focused you are, everyone has at some point forgotten to bring something to school.

5) Exam Season And Toppers

Class topper meme about school

Exam season brings with it new stationery, coffee, books filled with notes, and endless promises and connections that are made. Let’s be honest, when the time came, every student scattered to please the topper of the class for some, let’s say extra help, during the exam. In the end, there are some experiences with loyal toppers, and then we have the ones who most probably get super busy to help during the exam ones.

6) Enjoy College

Entering into college meme

This age-old lie that passes down from generation to generation is like a custom. While we all fully commit ourselves in class 10th, in hopes of enjoying high school, class 11th gives a wake-up call. When you are done working all night long for your class 12th and enter college, soon the fantasy of college breaks, and you are left with real-world education. The “Padai” never stops, you just learn to have fun with it.

7) Real College

college expectations vs reality meme

When we were kids it was “Mai Hoon Na”, later it was “ Student of the year”, somehow every student was convinced college would come straight out of movie production with dance sequences and fashionable friends. The reality could not be far from it. While college is a place filled with endless fun and opportunities, it also has the stress of exams and internships. This MEME would probably hit every student with a hint of reality.

8) The Night Study Sessions

drake school meme

While every student always asks the teacher about assignments and essays well in advance, there are only a few who get to the work early. The superpower of doing a week’s worth of assignments in a night by students usually starts in class 10th and all through high school and college, they become pros at it. Drake in this MEME could have any more relatability.

9) Attendance

college attendance meme

Be it college or school, every student’s constant worry is attendance. While they are certainly few who will show up to class come hail, rain, or sun, most students spend long periods calculating their attendance and the minimum required number. If you belong to the latter, this MEME from “ Mai Hoon Na” is just for you.

10) Exam Help Group

college meme about school grades

If it “ takes a village” to raise a child, it certainly needs a group to help that child pass its classes. Be it college or school, the endless pages of notes copied from the blackboard, the youtube playlist of the subject, special apps on phone, and Xerox copies from the library are the weapons that every student armors with to get the desired result.

Special MEMES On Online Education:

1) The Mute And Screen Buttons

online school meme

To avoid any unwanted accidents, a routine check-up of these two buttons during the classes is mandatory. While just to click once on these buttons to switch off is enough, the paranoia of maybe these buttons being open is a recurring issue.

2) Online Classes All-Day

online school meme about attendence

In our pre-pandemic normal world, school started at 8:00 A.M. and finished at 2:00 P.M. After 2 P.M., students were at their own will to do whatever they would like. Online classes took this liberty away. More often in college classes, it is very easy to feel that the day just continues in a single loop of classes and assignments and this caused a serious problem of mental burnout as well as physical exhaustion in different universities across India.

3) New Excuses

online school meme about excuses

This special year all the old excuses like ‘ I forgot my homework’ or ‘I didn’t know what book to bring to class’ were replaced by newlines with the variations in network issues, power cuts, or laptops not working. Like it is said – “ Modern problems require, modern solutions”.

Naturally, when a star of as big a magnitude as Arijit Singh got married without any public details, it raised many curious looks. Sorry Angle: Raj Kundra’s Daily Earning From His Adult Film Business Is Shocking!

0

Ever since businessman and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra’s arrest, many details about how his companies and business operated the adult film racket have come to the fore. A Mid-Day report by the Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that during the lockdown Kundra’s adult film business flourished. According to the joint commissioner of police (crime), Milind Bharambe, Kundra began this business only 18 months ago. However, it grew rapidly, and on a daily basis, he began earning lakhs. Bharambe revealed that he forged a partnership with Kenrin Limited owned by Pradeep Bakshi, his UK-based brother-in-law.

The joint commissioner, Milind Bharambe said, “As he cannot upload these videos from India on an app called HotShot, he provided the content to a foreign platform by sending videos via WeTransfer.” He continued, “All content was created in his office and sent to a London-based company called, Kenrin Limited, owned by his brother-in-law, Pradeep Bakshi.”

The HotShots app is described as the “world’s first 18+ app”. It showcases some of the hottest models and celebs globally in exclusive short films, photos, and hot videos, implying soft-to-hard adult films.

Kundra also had another backup plan in case this app got banned, apart from the app named HotShot. He termed it as “Plan B, Bollyfame”. According to the police, Kundra was aware that he was violating the law. Because last year, the app Hotshot was banned from Google Playstore and Apple. The crime branch has recovered several WhatsApp chats that testifies Raj Kundra’s Plan B Bollyfame. There were also some talks on the removal of “bold” content from Hotshot over those chats.

Bharambe told a crowded media gathering on Tuesday, “The free to download the app was yanked off by both Apple and Google Playstore for the type of its content.” He further elaborated, “The Mumbai Police have recovered incriminating evidence like several HotShot films, video clips, WhatsApp chats, etc. during the investigation.”

As far as his earnings are concerned, the growth of the business led to Raj Kundra earning lakhs daily. Initially, he earned Rs 2-3 lakh per day. However, the amount later increased to Rs 6-8 lakh daily. Bharambe said, “Documents of financial transactions run into thousands. We are analyzing the details to get exact earnings. The same will be treated as proceeds of crime.” He further revealed, “So far, we have frozen Rs 7.5 crore in various accounts.”

The police also revealed during the press briefing that how new or aspiring actresses from all over India coming to Mumbai were lured with work offers in web series, short films, and movies. Bharambe said, “Girls were called for auditions and after selection made to do bold scenes, which went onto semi-nude and then full-nude shoots.” He also revealed, “Some of them strongly opposed this and had approached the police.”

After booking Raj Kundra under various sections of the IPC and IT Act, Mumbai Police had arrested him as he is said to be the key conspirator in the case. On Monday, the Mumbai police commissioner said in a statement, “There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps.” He continued, “We’ve arrested Mr. Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this.”

For now, by a Mumbai Magistrate Court, Raj Kundra and techie associate Ryan J. Tharpe have been remanded to custody till 23 July 2021.

Meanwhile, adult actress Poonam Pandey has reported that Kundra leaked her mobile number with a message that said, “I will strip for you.” Poonam told news agency IANS, “When I said no to signing the contract, he leaked my phone number with a caption, ‘Call me now. I will strip for you.'” She further said, “He released this message along with my personal number and broadcast it. I still remember that after that my phone rang non-stop. I got calls from the whole world, including threatening messages.”

Following his arrest, an old tweet posted by actress Shilpa Shetty’s businessman-husband Raj Kundra on “Porn vs Prostitution” has gone viral. On March 29, 2012, Kundra had asked in the tweet “Ok so here goes Porn Vs Prostitution. Why is it legal to pay someone for sex on camera? How is one different to the other?? (sic).”

On 20th July, India managed to win against Sri Lanka in a very tight chase. India is currently playing a 3-match ODI series followed by a T-20 in Sri Lanka. Coach Rahul Dravid in an inspiring dressing room speech said that team India responded like champions with its back to the wall. His young side registered a win in the second ODI against Sri Lanka here.

India was reduced to 193 for seven in 36th over while chasing 276 for victory on Tuesday. However, Deepak Chahar (69) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (19) shared an unbroken 84-run stand with three wickets in hand and five balls to spare.

Dravid said in a video posted on BCCI.tv, “Obviously we finished on the right side of the result, which is incredible and fantastic but even if we didn’t finish on the right side of the result, it is the fight all the way through was absolutely brilliant, so well done to all of you.” He continued, “We said they were going to respond, we knew we had to respect the opposition. The opposition was going to respond, they’re also an international team. They responded, and we responded back like a champion team. With our back to the wall, we found a way to break them. So really well done to all of you. Fantastic job.”

Even though it is a big reason to celebrate in and of itself, this is Rahul Dravid’s first major coaching assignment with the senior team as well, and he came through. BCCI also shared the images from the series and appreciated them.

Although we are really hoping BCCI releases the full speech at some point but for now, Twitter was flooded with tweets in praise for the Indian team post-match. Even Kohli and Yuvraj couldn’t stay behind:

Let’s check some of the tweets by the netizens:

Later, Deepak Chahar reveals Rahul Dravid’s words before he walked out to play against Sri Lanka. He said at the post-match presentation ceremony, “No better way to win the match for the country. Rahul sir told me to play with all the balls. I’ve played a few innings with India A and I think he has belief in me.” He continued, “He told me he thinks I’m good enough to be a No. 7. He has belief in me. Hopefully, in the coming matches I don’t have to bat.”

The video also featured Suryakumar, Bhuvneshwar, and Chahar. They were talking about their experience with the match. Suryakumar said, “I don’t have words, I think it is one of the best games which I have been part of, I have seen live… it is an unbelievable victory.” He further continued, “Bhuvi, our vintage man and DC, we have been talking about his batting, and today he has proved himself, it was a complete team effort. It was something special from Deepak Chahar.”

Dravid can do no wrong according to us, as a player or a coach. And, it makes us even fonder of him.

0

In 2020, Irrfan Khan, one of the finest artistic talents of the world passed away. It was a grim year for the Indian film industry. He made his presence felt in 2003 with films such as Vishal Bhardwaj’s Maqbool and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Haasil among many others. Moreover, it didn’t take much time for his talent to spread overseas. He appeared in a medley of international films such as The Darjeeling Limited, Slumdog Millionaire, The Namesake, The Warrior, Jurassic World, Puzzle, Inferno, The Amazing Spider-Man, Life Of Pi, and New York, I Love You.

The late star managed to still experiment with projects like Qarib Qarib Singlle, Piku, and Karwaan after impressing both national and international audiences. He was last seen alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Madan, Ranvir Shorey, Dimple Kapadia, Deepak Dobriyal, and Manu Rishi in Homi Adajania’s Angrezi Medium. However, all eyes are on his son Babil Khan ever since actor Irrfan Khan passed away. Fans are closely observing each move of the star kid. They even have been passing judgment without fail. Be it a hate comment or an appreciation post, even the young aspiring actor makes sure to respond to every comment. He also makes sure to keep the ultimate legacy of his late father alive.

Recently, a fan asked him about his religion on Instagram, and without fail, Babil gave a befitting reply that won our hearts.

Babil is pretty active on social media. He loves to share his thoughts on social media platforms. He complements some great throwback pictures and loves to share his fond memories of his father with poignant and thoughtful captions.

Recently, a social media user was a little too interested in his religion rather than his picture. The user went on to ask him if he is a Muslim? Well, this is not the first time when Babil has taken a fan comment so seriously. He felt the need to post it on his Instagram story and give a befitting reply.

Babil Khan, the star kid did not lose his cool or get irked by his question. Instead, he simply replied by saying that he does not belong to any particular religion. He just wrote, “I am Babil.” Babil shared a screenshot of a comment in his Instagram stories and wrote, “I’ve read the Bible, Bhagavad Gita, Quran, and I’m in the middle of reading Guru Granth Sahib. I am for all. How we help each other evolve is the basis of all religions.”

Take a look at the screenshot of Babil’s story on Instagram:

Babil has also talked about being “raised as a man without religion”, in the past. He replied to an Instagram user last year, “I have enjoyed the festivities of Diwali and Holi and Raksha Bandhan and Eid and I’ve also been to a church and paid my respect. I LOVE PEOPLE, I’m trying to stand FOR PEOPLE.”

Last year as well, he had taken to Instagram to tell people that he is a “human being”. And also that he did not want to be judged on the basis of his religion. He had written, “I don’t want to be judged by my religion. I am not my religion, l am a human being, just like the rest of the population of India.”

We must say that just like his father, he has got immense patience. We are sure that hardly anyone must have seen Irrfan Khan getting angry at people even if they were trolling him and making fun of him. It is really a very rare quality to possess. However, we are glad that his son Babil Khan has that.

Babil stated last month that he was dropping out of college so that he can focus solely on his acting profession. He shared a post to share the news with fans and wrote, “I will miss you so much. My beautiful friends. I have a very tight circle here in Mumbai, literally 2-3 friends in total. You all gave me a home in a strange cold place and made me feel like I belonged.” He further added, “Thank you, I love you. Film BA, dropping out today, with over 120 credits cause I’m giving it all to acting as of now. The Goodbye university of Westminster. I love you my truest friends.”

Sharat Saxena Alleges Amitabh Bachchan Gets All ‘Good Roles Written For Old People’

0

It’s not easy to sustain a career in Bollywood, especially when you have no Bollywood connections, just like Sharat Saxena. However, he still managed a successful career for 50 years.

Veteran actor Sharat Saxena who is famous for films such as Ghulam, Saathiya, Mr. India, Krrish, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and recently expressed his unhappiness about not getting desired good roles. The celebrity, who is a famous name in Bollywood said that all the good roles go to Amitabh Bachchan which is written for senior actors, and the artists like him are left with scrapings.

Sharat talked with Reddit recently and he said, “The film industry is a young people’s industry, old people are not required here. Unfortunately, we are not dying away. We are still alive and we still want to work. How many roles do you think are written for old people in this industry?” He further continued, “All the good roles written for old people go to Amitabh Bachchan. Whatever scrapings are left is dished out to people like me. And we refuse them most of the time. So the amount of work that a person like me can do is almost zero.”

The veteran actor revealed that there is a scarcity of roles for senior actors. This situation compels him to stay in shape so he can look younger. He said, “So at the age of 71, I work out for two hours every day so that I can beat the sh*t out of these 25-year-old guys. So that I look like a tough man. I color my hair and mustache black. You have seen me in Sherni.” He further added, “I am 71 years old, but I have to make myself look 50-55. Otherwise, I’ll get no work.”

While talking about his age, Sharat said, “It is not easy at this age. It’s not that I have to work. I don’t really need to work, my family tells me not to. But the desire to be in front of a camera doesn’t die away. That always remains.” He continued, “Every new project and role that I get, or any actor gets, makes him feel young and alive again. Sitting at home and living a retired life is not for actors. They cannot handle it. Or at least I can’t.”

When asked that how difficult it was for him to sustain a career in such a tough industry, he said, “It’s not easy. There have been times when I’ve done action sequences just to pay my income tax, like Mohanlal’s ‘Jeevanet Jeevan’. I had to do the climax fight with him.” Well, during that shoot, he met a writer called Priyadarshan. One fine day, he turned up at his house in Bombay and asked him to play the villain with Mohanlal in the film ‘Aaryan’. He said, “Because of that, I made enough money to buy myself a Contessa. In those days, in the film industry, only three of us owned a Contessa — Sunny Deol, F C Mehra, and me.”

In the interview, he also confessed that Bollywood has changed a lot from the time he started out. He said, “Today, Bollywood has become a very large industry, with a lot of money. So much money that there is a tremendous disparity between the heroes, producers, and directors, and common people like me. Earlier, when we wanted to work on a film, we used to go and meet the producer or director.” But today, “instead of meeting the director, you meet a casting director. And then the casting director decides if you have to meet the director. If you insist on meeting the director, you have to make an appointment.”

He further added, “When to go to the office, you have to first meet the doorman. If he lets you, you meet the telephone operator or the secretary. She will ask you some absurd questions as to who you are, where you come from, and why you have come. You answer those silly questions, get humiliated, and then finally meet the director.” As a result, he stopped going and meeting directors and producers anymore. He believes that if anybody wants him, they will simply give him a call.

The actor was last seen in Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Sherni’ starring Vidya Balan. He essayed the role of an owner of a nature retreat.

Moreover, the veteran actor gave a glimpse of his fitness recently where he took to his Instagram handle and shared a few pics of his pumped-up biceps with his fans. He captioned the images saying “Still trying very hard to become someone.#bollywood #hollywood #castingdirector #castingcall #hindifilms.”
