Dinesh Karthik Acknowledges Rohit Sharma’s Reminder – ‘You Still Have Some Cricket Left’

0

The stylish Tamil Nadu-born cricketer, Dinesh Karthik is enjoying his new life as a TV pundit in the commentary box along with fellow veterans such as Nasser Hussain, Kumar Sangakkara, and Sunil Gavaskar. He became an overnight fan favorite with the microphone. His relevant takes and quirky remarks on the game resonated with the audiences back home. This gave him an instant fan base in cricket commentary and called him a “breath of fresh air.”

The 36 years old former skipper of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders has impressed everyone while doing commentary in the World Test Championship final. It was played between India and New Zealand and the latter won it and became the first World Test Champion.

The Indian wicket-keeper and the batsman, Dinesh Karthik is quite active on social media. He keeps his followers abreast with the latest of his adventures. The Nidahas Trophy-winning hero shared some of his super cool pictures on Instagram on July 14 in which he can be seen posing in several different outfits. The caption on the post read, “Just me being me”.

Take a look at the talented Dinesh Karthik’s super suave post here:

Karthik’s comment section got overwhelmed within no time with netizens heaping praises on the wicketkeeper’s dapper-looking snaps. However, prolific Indian run-getter Ro-‘hit man’ Sharma did not miss the opportunity of reminding Karthik when he saw Karthik’s post that his days as a cricketer are not over yet. The Mumbai Indians captain wrote in one of the most liked comments on the post, “You still have some cricket left. FYI!”

Take a look at the screenshot of the comment of Rohit Sharma:

It came as a surprise that before even calling it a day over his magnificent career as an Indian cricketer, Dinesh Karthik took to the experts’ panel in the commentary box. Clearly, it is not a very popular decision that many active cricketers would think about. Perhaps, that’s exactly what makes Dinesh Karthik super special in the eyes of his fans.

However, Karthik didn’t waste any time expressing his acknowledgment while replying to Rohit Sharma. He responded, “rohitsharma45 don’t ever doubt that Sham.”

Take a look at the screenshot of the Dinesh Karthik’s response on the comment of Rohit Sharma:

It goes without saying that Karthik still has fire in his belly. He would be raring to exploit every little opportunity that comes his way to shine bright for India and instantly announce an amazing comeback in the senior ranks of the team. It is only fair to say that Karthik still has many a mile before hanging his boots besides packing a solid punch with his fashion statements.

As per the Cricket Addictor, while talking with India Today, Karthik said that he wants to “break that stereotype” where Indian cricketers take up commentary only after retirement. He said, “There are a lot of other sports like basketball and football where current players come on air when they are not playing. Even now during the Sri Lanka-England T20s, James Anderson was doing it for BBC in the next room. So it is a normal thing.” He continued, “It is only in India I think it is considered like that (post-retirement option). I obviously want to break that stereotype to an extent and I am happy to do this when I am not playing.”

His repertoire as a wicketkeeper-batsman with Kolkata Knight Riders who have had the experience of leading and winning an IPL title is a justification of the fact that he brings so much more to the table than just cricketing skills. Karthik is surely a thinking man’s player. Karthik was last seen in the now-postponed Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 with so much cricket being played throughout the calendar year. The IPL asks for a lot while making an instant impact on the Selectors’ Committee. He couldn’t go too well as KKR lost five of their seven games, unfortunately. However, he must be eagerly waiting for redemption.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that it will organize the remaining matches of the tournament just before the T20 World Cup in UAE. That is when he’ll want to make the most of the remainder of the season. Especially, in the absence of regular KKR skipper Eoin Morgan. Morgan is unlikely to feature in the second leg of the competition. Most probably, Dinesh Karthik may be asked to lead the Kolkata side to show his class yet again.

As for the flamboyant batsman, ‘Sham’ aka Rohit aka Hit-man Sharma, he is bracing himself for India’s upcoming five-match Test series against hosts England. It is starting on August 4, 2021. Lately, the opener has been impressive in red-ball cricket and would also like to outshine himself against the Three Lions. However, in order to tackle the new Duke’s ball in difficult English conditions, India must prepare themselves well.

0

After a long overdue the highly anticipated FRIENDS reunion featuring cast members Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, and David Schwimmer aired on May 27, 2021. After 17 long years, the FRIENDS cast reunited for the special, and we got to know many secrets that were never discussed earlier.

The cast also appeared in a handful of interviews prior to the premiere of the HBO Special and dished about the reunion as well as the making of FRIENDS. Seeing them discussing the past was a great experience in itself. Jennifer & David crushing on each other was the best thing for any fan. Apart from that, the guys also discussed the ‘no dating pact’ among them in one of such interviews.

FRIENDS cast Rumors

Perry, LeBlanc, and Schwimmer appeared in an interview to promote the FRIENDS reunion where they came across the question about their dating rumors and if they actually hooked up in real. Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing said there was a rule that they kept their friendship and maintained their friendship.

It was really important for the six of them and the show because if they were hooking up then it might have messed up things. He also explained that James Burrow initiated the rule which worked out pretty well. But did the rule really existed? Or did anyone dare to break the rule?

The time when David was confessing his crush for Jennifer, you might remember it well that Matt LeBlanc stopped him in middle by saying. “B*llsh*t”. It was taken as a joke at that moment but what if Matt really knew something? And the cast knows things that we don’t. And as friends, Matt just teased David a little but they kept the lid on the secrets as true friends do. Don’t you think it’s a possibility?

NBC’s hit sitcom FRIENDS might have started as a show that highlighted the friendship between six friends in New York City. But it also covered something which most people go through in their 20s and 30s, Dating! As much as it was about friendship, it was also about dating too.

At times, the characters dated their pals from the group, and given their vulnerable age, it’s quite natural to get into a real date after the show. Back in time, there were numerous rumors about the cast and we know every dating relationship news was not true. Some of the updates that we heard back then turned out to be rumors, but we would have loved it if that was true. So today, let’s check out a few rumors from the past involving the FRIENDS cast that looked almost genuine:

1. Matt LeBlanc And Jennifer Aniston

joey and rachel enjoying in the sets of friends

The chemistry between Matt and Jennifer was not much liked by FRIENDS Fans. The writers changed the plot soon enough, or they just wanted it for a brief period only. But there were rumors they had a fling off-screen too. In an article by Jezebel, Matt’s father once claimed that Matt and Jen used to make out in the dressing room. Later the piece was fueled by the fact that Matt didn’t get invited to Jennifer’s wedding.

So, from speculations, they probably dated. But the representatives of both the actors denied any such development. We don’t know exactly what happened back then, but Matt’s father making such a bold statement was something odd. Anyways, would you like these two people dating? Or you are rooted for Jen and David only?

2. Jennifer Aniston And David Schwimmer

ross-rachel

Jennifer and David shared an on and off-going story but they were a couple or a lobster in the famous series, FRIENDS. Reportedly, Jennifer Anniston and David Schwimmer were dating during their hit show FRIENDS. We know Jen and David recently confessed about their crush on each other, but back in time, the rumors had a different tone. As per the rumors, they were in a secret relationship for four long years.

People also said that they hid their relationship because they were afraid their off-screen romance might tamper with their on-screen chemistry. Soon there relationship went down to a rocky road, and the duo decided to split up. Recently in the FRIENDS reunion, it was revealed by Jennifer and David that they had a huge crush on each other on the first few seasons of the show.

But was it really all? Given their age and their feelings for each other, which story would you believe? The duo said that they channeled their emotions to Ross and Rachel but is that really possible for two people so close and hot?

3. Courteney Cox And Matthew Perry

Monica and Chandler from friends looking at each other

Almost every FRIENDS fan fantasizes about Chandler and Monica being together, but it never happened. They were linked in dating rumors several times, but they all turned out to be cooked-up stories. But can you imagine how things would have been if it was true? Would it not be wonderful if the love and understanding we experienced in the show were real?

A very notable story surfaced was when Elle claimed, Courteney Cox and John McDaid called off their wedding and she turned to her former TV husband. They were close back then and we know it. And the way Matthew looks at Courteney is enough to understand he was in love. But didn’t they do anything about it ever? Recently, Matthew called off his wedding with Molly Hurwitz after the FRIENDS reunion. And this time too, many fans are excited and want them to try to take off their relationship from where they left.

4. Jennifer Aniston And Matthew Perry

chandler and rachel sitting on a couch

Matthew and Jennifer’s connection was quite underrated in the show. They connected on a different but sweet level. However, if we go with rumors they have had some romantic connection going on off-screen when they were young and bold. According to an article on Showbiz, there was a rumor that Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry had a love connection but it wasn’t until the series ended.

Some believed that the co-stars dated in 2006, nearly two years after the show ended. You might find the rumor of them dating a little odd, but the truth to it might be proven soon with Perry’s new book, which he’s writing. His book might bring us many more revelations and it might be the next big thing to watch out for. So for now, let’s wait for Perry to complete his book and hope he gives us some insights into their love & dating life.

5. Courteney Cox And Matt LeBlanc

monica trying to seduce joey in a flashback episode of friends

Courteney and Matt shared a few romantic episodes in the flashback and dreamy ones too. Joey dreamt about Monica and saw them in love. But soon enough, Joey’s bubble of fantasies burst out. On 24th January 2016, Courteney Cox and Matt Le Blanc were spotted leaving Sunset Tower in Los Angeles and they were seen kissing outside the restaurant.

If you check the pics then you might feel it wasn’t so romantic but a friendly kiss they did but the world around them got really heated up with that one kiss. While talking to Gossip Gop, the actor immediately shut it down by saying that the duo are just good pals, but I can’t seem to remember the last time I smooched my buddy like that! Shakespeare said it right, “Doth protest too much.”

So, these were a few rumors we known about. You might find many allegations and claimed revelations about their dating status, but there are hardly any proofs to support them. But time and again, the media houses have been following such stories and came up with amazing kinds of stuff. We can’t claim if they are true or not, but they surely look quite interesting. Have you come across any such rumor which we aren’t aware of yet? Please let us know in the comment section.

10 Most Reliable Characters From FRIENDS

0

The FRIENDS theme song, “I’ll be there for you” tells us exactly what we ought to expect from the characters in this show. And without a doubt, reliability is a big part of that. From Rachel working as a waitress for Monica when she does a tasting at her own apartment to Ross cheering up Phoebe with a bike, the entire series is packed with moments where the gang showcases their loyalty to each other.

When it comes to reliability, do you think all six of them are good enough to be considered? Also, we had a bunch of supporting cast, can we count anyone from there to be reliable? While not all characters are always perfect, the characters on the show can surely depend on each other for the most part. If we manage to spot the reliable characters then the question comes in that, “Who is the most reliable of them all?”

So, for clearing the air, we have pulled out a list of 10 characters from the show and also tried to rank them according to their reliability. Let’s dig into it:

1. Chandler Bing

chandler bing most reliable character

Chandler is undoubtedly the most reliable person in the show. Besides being a loveable and comic member of the group, he is also someone who is always there for his friends. He has been by Ross’s side throughout his life, and once he met Joey, he treated him not just as a friend but more than that. Despite Joey’s monetary issues, he let him live in his apartment.

He was kind to both Phoebe and Rachel and was always there with advice and warmth. And what can we say about his reliability towards Monica? Chandler was always there for her even before they became a couple. Moments like comforting Monica after Phoebe moved out or peeing on her jellyfish sting, he never backed out. Everybody would be glad to have a friend like Chandler.

2. Joey Tribbiani

Joey most reliable character

Joey Tribbiani might not be the smartest character, but he does have the biggest heart. That is why he is so reliable. He’s always there for every single member of the group because he wants to do his best for everyone he loves. Also, telling his mother about the affair his father was having, and looking out for his sisters also made him a family man so no reason to complain.

Joey is always there when somebody needs him, he also made it clear that he would even pee on anyone if he had to! Jokes apart, be it a pregnant lady without a father or a girl’s unfulfilled year-wish of kissing a guy, Joey took care of many things his friends needed. It makes him one of the most reliable characters in the show.

3. Phoebe Buffay

phoebe most reliable character

Phoebe Buffay has a heart of gold and is always there for her friends. That is why she’s so great at being reliable for people. She is someone who would never have any evil intentions in her mind and always loved cheering up her friends whenever needed. The need to help others is quite clear within her.

Phoebe is someone who can be relied upon no matter the situation whether she is being a surrogate mother, looking after her grandma, or just being a great friend.

4. Rachel Green

beautiful rachel green from friends series

Rachel Green might be selfish when the show began, but with the series moving, it becomes quite clear that she learned to be kind and caring. Rachel was always there for all of them when needed, and that makes her a reliable friend.

Whether it’s helping Monica with her job interview, going to several awards shows with Joey, or helping Ross with his relationship with Emily, Rachel always tried her best to help. She also knew how to cheer up people, she was the one who took charge of cheering up Chandler when he planned to be the Snake man!

5. Monica Geller

Monica Geller can be bossy at times, telling everybody else what to do. But she is someone who holds the group together and is a reliable person. We have seen on occasions that the other group members depend on her at times. No matter what poor decisions he makes, she’s always there for her brother.

The fact that throughout the series, she opens her apartment up to so many people proves that how trusting and reliable she is after all. She is happy to give advice and will always make time for people. The fact that she could do all these is proof of how great she works with others.

6. Ross Geller

Ross Geller is a reliable friend, but he can be quite questionable at times in regards to this trait. Usually, Ross is always there for his friends but he can be a little harder to deal with when he is in a grumpy mood. He is the friend you need when things aren’t going right.

He left his chance to be on the Discovery Channel just for Rachel, helped Phoebe learn to ride a bike, also helped save Monica from mom every time. Ross is surely someone who can be relied upon on the whole.

7. Gunther

gunther confessing about his subway ride

Although Gunther is not the first character that everybody thinks about, this loyal Central Perk employee is incredibly reliable. To discuss a few of his positive qualities, he is always at work without fail and his dedication is always 100% for Central Perk which shows us how reliable he actually is. He also helped Joey & Rachel by giving them the job at Central Perk when they were in need.

He also comes in to attend parties, and we can he somehow or the other was there for the group when needed. And the best part to prove his reliability is his continued love for Rachel without having anything reciprocated ever. Believe it or not, he does his best to prove he can be counted on. Except for his weird habit of getting close to Rachel at any cost, the rest of the qualities are appreciable.

8. Janice

janice with chandler

Although Janice annoys every other character, she is reliable to people, no matter what. Janice was always good to Chandler and wanted to spend time with his friends as well. Janice was always happy to give a second chance to Chandler, even though she was treated very poorly by him and never questioned things.

Even Ross at one point found a person in her who could be trusted with secrets and feelings. Throughout the show, she pops up several times, proving her kindness, even just as a friend.

9. Richard Burke

richard and monica

Richard Burke is one of the most memorable partners of Monica, and a big reason for that is his reliability. Throughout their entire relationship, he’s a maturely romantic person and treated Monica with great respect. He even risked his friendship with Jack to make it work with Monica, and he didn’t give up on her even later on in life. He left a significant mark on the rest of the group as well, spending time trying to get to know them.

10. Mr. Treeger

joey and mr. treeger

Mr. Treeger was the superintendent of the building where Chandler and Monica lived, and he did a great job for them. Despite Ross not believing that he can’t fix things when the apartment is extremely hot, he is someone who will always be there to help them when needed. While he is technically hired to do that job, he always gets the jobs done when asked. He is passionate about helping others which is what makes him so reliable.

Cole Sprouse appeared as Ross Geller and his ex-wife, Carol’s son, Ben. He confessed that he felt quite intimidated at that time. He said, “At this point, FRIENDS was a very well-oiled machine. And I was quite young. But I remember all those worries kind of fading away when the cast was so nice.” He continued, “I was schooling on set when I was there and have a lot of interesting memories.”

He also revealed that he had a huge crush on Jennifer Aniston, just like the entire world, but he said, “I do remember being quite intimidated around her, because of that. I remember blanking on my lines and having a kind of stage fright when she sat next to me on the couch in one episode.”

He further added, “And I remember there was a cameraman who was like, ‘Little boy’s got a crush,’ or I forget what they said. Of course, I turned bright red. But I do remember feeling like I fell in love.” However, the favorite episode of Sprouse was when Ross dressed as the “holiday armadillo”. He said, “I was infatuated with the costumes and the practical effects that they had. That was probably my most memorable thing to shoot.”

She recalled, “I got the call saying, ‘Hey, do you wanna do an arc on “Friends”? I said, ‘Absolutely, hands down.’ I don’t even need to read it. Just yes, yes, yes, of course.”

When she comes to know about her role, she was like “Couldn’t I have gotten one where I was clothed and with hair?” She added, “To their credit, Jennifer, Courteney, Lisa, they’re like, ‘You look so beautiful bald.’ I was like, ‘I look like an alien.’”

However, she admits that she had a lot of fun while filming and the cast could not have been kinder. She also loves the fact that the new generation is also loving the show and they are recognizing her as well. And the most frequent question she gets from kids was, “Did you really shave your head? No, I didn’t.”

“When you’re making $1 million dollars a week, it tends to put you in a good mood. I was just happy to be there. It was dope being there”, he said. He also revealed that out of all the main cast, David Schwimmer aka Ross Geller was the one who kept in touch with him even after his cameo was ended on the show.

To which he joked, “If Rachel didn’t leave me at the altar, can I say there would be no show?” He said, “People still stop me about FRIENDS and Barry. Like, ‘Oh, you’re the jerk on ‘Friends.’ I didn’t think he was that bad of a guy.

But let’s just call him misunderstood and still looking for love in all the wrong places.” If you don’t know, Whitfield was considered for David Schwimmer’s role when David was unavailable. We got to see the chemistry between Mitchell and Jennifer in one intimate scene where they made out on the dentist’s chair.

He said, “It makes me laugh just because there are some great lines there. The writing in that scene was really good. I have guys for years who would ask me, ‘Dude, you kissed Jennifer Aniston. What was that like, dude?’” And his reply was nothing sort of that you might have imagined, “And I was like, ‘Well, imagine kissing someone you know that you’ve known for a long time that you’re just friends with in front of about 200 people when it’s about 120 degrees with a bunch of cameras on you and I think it always ruins it.”

He then joked about what they say next, “‘Oh, man. I wanted to hear it was great.’ I was like, ‘OK. It was great.’ You don’t know what to say in those times.”

She was not physically fit enough to do the show after going through intense labor. But after watching the pilot, she was convinced to accept it. She said, “I saw David Schwimmer do the most incredible take.

I’d never seen anybody do comedy like that. He literally took the longest take with his comedy. I just thought, oh my goodness, I have to work with this man. He is brilliant.” She also remembers the time when she was moved by the actor’s performance in the episode “The One With The Candy Hearts”.

She said, “It was the sweetest, sweetest scene and we had to kiss. My eyes welled with tears as we were doing the scene because he was so tender and so loving and just ‘Can we make this work again?’ And he kissed me and the thought that went through my mind is ‘He’s really sweaty right now,’ cause he was so nervous.”

She also loved the way viewers took up the love triangle among Ross, Carol, and Susan. However, her favorite moment on the set was when she saw Lisa, Jennifer, and Courteney splashing in a puddle like children and laughing.

Christina Applegate appeared as Rachel’s self-absorbed sister, Amy. This was the role for which she even won an Emmy in 2003. The actress reveals that her favorite part of the show was when she and Rachel started fighting over the fact that Rachel would not give the custody of Emma to Amy even if Ross and Rachel died. During an interview, she said, “I think my favorite line, though, is when I keep saying Lisa’s (Kudrow) name wrong. And then she goes, ‘Phoebe.’” She added, “That was written as a rewrite in front of the audience, and I thought it was hilarious.”

Christina also admitted that Jennifer had a blast while filming the scenes. She said, “We hung out for a while after that, and I really, really do love her.” However, apart from Jennifer, she ties to the rest of the cast before FRIENDS happened.

Her favorite memory on the set was hanging out with the cast. Even she was shocked when she came to know that she was nominated for Emmy because it didn’t feel like work to her. It was so much fun. Otherwise, they don’t let you do it.’” She admitted that she loved working with David and praised her on-screen wife, Jane Sibbett.

She said, “She’s so beautiful to act with, and such an amazing person. I do feel like we were successful at not over-characterizing it as anything but a loving relationship.”

She further added, “It was just these two women who were in love, who had a balance between the two of them and were so devoted to each other. And I think that was ahead of its time.”

Kristin David played the character of a woman, Erin whom Phoebe and Rachel want Joey to date. ‘The Sex and the City’ star recalled, “I remember losing sleep. I was nervous to be the tiny character of Erin.” She added, “partly because of the live audience, but partly because you’re in this world that has been created that is so alive.”

She explains her anxiety, “And I remember, like, ‘Will I set that joke up OK? Will Matt (LeBlanc) be happy? Will, I just go blank?’” However, when Kristin reached there, she was struck by the bond among the six characters in which many of whom she already knew.

She said, “I think the thing I remember most was the cohesion between the cast and the fact that they were somewhat besieged by the success from the outer world and they had kind of bonded together as a group.” She added, “It was a lot of fun just to be there, to sit on the couch in the coffee shop.”

When asked about her favorite memory on set, she said, “I remember watching Lisa Kudrow especially, because she had this very involved storyline that she wanted to work on, and the way that she worked with the writing staff.” She continued, “Watching Lisa rework her character’s arc or what was happening in that episode was really something that I hadn’t really seen in that way. She really went and reworked it in a way that was amazing.”

Lauren Tom appeared as Ross’s girlfriend from China, who arrived when Rachel was about to tell Ross about her feelings. Tom recalls that the audience reaction was “rabid” because they were so invested in the love story of Ross and Rachel.

She said, “I wasn’t prepared for the amount of venom I was about to receive in a live audience where they actually booed my character. And, of course, I was trying very hard not to get my feelings hurt. So, I had to get used to that. Even I was rooting for Rachel, on some level, cause I was a fan of the show.”

She also revealed that at the beginning of her career she tried to do some serious roles but is probably most known for her work on FRIENDS. And all the people who come to her wants to know one thing if Ross is a good kisser.

To answer it, she said, “He is, by the way.” However, about her favorite memory on set, she said, “I still remember it was my birthday on my first day of rehearsal, and so they all took me out to lunch. It was very, very fancy, and it was so, so sweet of them to welcome me in that way.”

Vincent Ventresca was Monica’s on-off beau in the show who turns out to be dull when he stops drinking. He said, “I just remember how the energy on the set was. They felt like they were friends. They were a team. And man, it was really cool to just sort of being in that for one night.”

However, when he returned for the second season, the show’s popularity had really blown up. He said, “They were on the cover of Rolling Stone. It was pretty crazy. And I felt like the stakes were higher because we knew so much more about all of those characters and so much more about all of those actors. But they were sort of the same.”

He revealed that his encounters with FRIENDS fans come in two phases. He said, “When the show was on if you were on that show, especially the second year, you were on NBC on Thursday night. I mean, it was a big deal. But that was 25 years ago.” He continued, “But then the show came out on Netflix, and so now all these kids that weren’t even alive 25 years ago. I’ll go to the bagel store or something and they’ll be like, ‘Oh my God, there’s Fun Bobby.’”

When asked about his favorite memory on set, he said, “I was a basketball player when I was younger, and that’s why I liked acting. They kind of made acting like sports again. It was a team. And they played it together and they worked together.” He continued, “Things didn’t always go perfectly when you were taping the show — and they knew it.

And they didn’t just gloss over it. They were like, ‘Hey, we can do better.’ And then they literally would, like, huddle up in front of, like, a studio audience.” He further added, “And they’d be like, ‘What if you did this, or what if you did that? And let’s try this.’ And they’d break, and then they’d go and do it.”
