It’s been 17 years that the iconic show FRIENDS got off-air. It still is one of the most popular shows. The six main characters of the show are flawed in their own unique way. Kathy claims that she does not want to come between best friends and Chandler keeps his distance from her. Monica’s massive apartment is a dream come true, but it comes with a cranky weird guy living downstairs, Mr. Heckles. Although there is not much known about Heckles, he might have been a fun-loving class clown in his high school. Later, he winds up to be a hermit who only leaves his apartment to complain about the noise coming from Monica and Rachel’s place.
His unwanted intervention and objections might seem very off-putting if you were his neighbor. Given his distinct attitude, he is the guy whom you would always like to keep distance with. Another quality that characterized him as a bad man, was his habit of claiming animals that didn’t belong to him.
Phoebe and Ursula are twin sisters who never got along and could easily go past years without speaking. Ursula not only asked Phoebe if she’d be interested to work in an adult movie but also withheld vital information about their upbringing such as information about their biological mother.
Whenever Phoebe tried to reconnect with Ursula, she ended up being rejected and disappointed. Ursula is a reminder that how exceptional Phoebe is as a person.
As a child, Amy stole boyfriends of Rachel and as an adult, we saw her starting a girl fight on Thanksgiving dinner over a Ralph Lauren family discount. She didn’t visit Rachel in the hospital when she gave birth to Emma and still had the guts to ask for the custody of Emma after Ross and Rachel die.
She is completely self-centered and incapable of accepting criticism. She usually retaliates with an insult and her total self-absorption is the catalyst for all of the conflict in the show. She would be a friend who always uses you and dumps you when there’s nothing left in you to give.
Dr. Green is fearless when it comes to being offensive and rude to strangers and pops up throughout the series. He chastises Ross for leaving a hefty tip, yells at a waiter, insinuates Phoebe was a lesbian, belittled Rachel and her life choices at every turn, and also called his unborn grandchild a “bastard”.
Rachel was constantly trying to please him but it’s sad to know that Rachel’s childhood memories mainly consist of her father yelling. Even though Rachel was an independent woman, she constantly failed to gain her father’s approval.
At the start of season 6, when Chandler and Monica decided to move in together, Joey interviewed a bevy of beauties to be his new roommate and finally ended up with Janine. Despite being a dancer, her major job was to be hot and provide Joey with ample opportunities to hook up.
She would have been forgotten if it wasn’t for her intense dislike of Chandler and Monica. Janine says to Joey that she’s not a fan of his two closest friends even after a pleasant double date. Her reasons for not liking them are quite murky. Her double-faced personality proves that she is not very pretty on the inside. And you would never like to have a friend like her in real life, or would you?
After Joey gets his big break during season 2 and lands a leading role on “Days of Our Lives”, he decided to move out. Chandler fills the empty space with a new roomie, Eddie. Eddie quickly becomes obsessed with gaslighting Chandler making his life z living hell. Eddie’s recent breakup made Chandler fall into a really crazy situation.
His craziness is punctuated by a maniacal laugh and over-the-top antics such as keeping a goldfish cracker as a pet, watching Chandler’s sleep, etc. The only good thing that happened with Eddie coming in was that Chandler and Joey got to know how good they were as roommates together. Eddie is the kind of roommate that no one of us would dare to have in our entire life.
During season 4, Ross falls hard and fast for Emily, but their whirlwind romance comes to an end when he calls his bride “Rachel” at the altar. She went away and ditched on their reception and honeymoon. While Ross tried to win her back, she continually kept shooting him down.
She started off as a sympathetic character, but soon she transformed into a jealous, controlling, and unreasonable woman, who demanded Ross to shift London and end up his friendship with Rachel. Ross goes to great lengths to win Emily’s heart but she never gave him that second chance he deserved.
Rachel’s younger sister, Jill Green is probably pretty similar to how Rachel was before she moved in with Monica and started her life over. She’s completely spoiled and takes everything for granted.
After their father threatened to cut off Jill’s finances, she came in to live with her sister, Rachel. However, to spite Rachel, Jill ended up trying to date Ross and was an all-around annoying character.
Frank was Phoebe’s half-brother. She met him on one of her failed attempts to meet her father. Even though he didn’t appear for long on the show, he was an incredibly odd character. He dated his teacher which was quite unethical and the two eventually ended up getting married.
Later he asked Phoebe to be the surrogate for their babies because Alice was unable to conceive. Things always got uncomfortable whenever Frank showed up. Starting from his romantic relationship with his teacher to his awkward relationship with his newfound sister Phoebe, nothing seemed to be normal. In fact, a brother like him would be really tough to have.

Director Vishal Bharadwaj left no stone untouched in creating this epic story. He brought out the real actors within a cast of great performers. This movie gave Bollywood a great director and the vision of limitless stories.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali made his name for the historical period drama genre. And Bajirao Mastani is one of his best works. Padmavat is another film but Bajirao Mastani had a more impactful story and side characters. This movie also gave an iconic ending and Priyanka Chopra as Kashi was a side character that gave an edge to Bajirao Mastani over Padmavat.
With a cast of Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan, and the legend Amitabh Bachan, you can never go wrong. Piku is a movie that can bring an instant smile to your face. This movie accurately showed us a Bengali family instead of the stereotypical caricatures. The ending will leave you with a mixed feeling of joy and sadness. Amitabh Bachan stole every scene he was in.
NH10 is a one-night film starting with murder and ending with revenge. The amazing thriller had some elements that were never seen in Bollywood before. Most of the heavy lifting was done by Anushka Sharma but the antagonist Darshan Kumar stole the show. This film gave Bollywood a fearful female character and a plot that finished in just one night.
A beautiful love story that blossoms in regional India. The outstanding performance by Vicky Kaushal and the cast brought this gem alive. Masaan has created a wide fan base. This movie has given Bollywood an out-of-the-box love story, epic dialogues, and great performances.
It would have been a shame if this movie was not included in the list. The 2016 thriller drama kept everyone on the edge of their seats. This movie is all about Rajkumar Rao. That man is truly a legend and has proved that why Bollywood needs him desperately. Trapped is a movie that can give you anxiety just by watching it. Another movie that followed this trend is Phobia starring Radhika Apte. Both the films are great and a must-watch.
Dangal became the highest-grossing film of India when it was first released. This film had the toughest spot on our list where it had to compete with two other sports biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and MS Dhoni: The untold story. Those movies are great but Dangal became a big commercial success and gave birth to new talents like Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, and Zaira Wasim.

Stree is a breath of fresh air in the horror-comedy genre. When Bollywood wasn’t able to grow out of Golmaal Again, Great Grand Masti, and more. Stree told everyone how a horror-comedy is made. A compelling story, great performances, and hilarious scary reactions have been nothing but a laughter ride for the viewers.
India’s biggest cinematic superhero is considered Krish and other than that the country only has an underwhelming portfolio. Mard Ko Dard Nai hota is a refreshing superhero movie and could easily turn into a franchise. With Bhavesh Joshi as another example of a street superhero, they both made a good character but Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota gets an upper hand due to the secondary characters and entire cast performance.
It was disappointing that Tumbbad didn’t get the love it deserved. With an original screenplay, amazing visuals, and outstanding performance, Tumbbad is easily the best horror film India has ever produced. Those who watched the film were anticipating and demanding an oscar nomination. If you enjoy a different story than Tumbbad it is.
The spy thriller is a genre the country keeps failing at. With some above-average movies like Agent Vinod, Phantom, and Madras cafe, India didn’t have anything extraordinary, until Razzi. Alia Bhatt as Sehmat made sure that this film becomes the best in the market. The scenario created by the director was enough to give you anxiety, but the cast increased the thrill ten times. A great film and that is a promise for more in the future.
The second movie of 2019 to make our list is Article 15. Indeed the year had other great movies like Badla and Chhichhore, but this film has done a phenomenal job of portraying the dark secrets hidden in society that were never seen before in cinema. The fresh and horrifying story of the cast system, the incredible performances by the entire cast, and the great narration make it a decade-defining film.
The sky is pink is based on real-life and is probably the best movie based on a non-athletic real-life film. Each and every actor in the movie had made a great impact. The main four characters were simply outstanding. It is a shame that the movie wasn’t given proper recognition. The movie makes it to our list for portraying an ending that made everyone cry.

Society always wants us to something big but it is not necessary until we are happy with what we do and are with those whom we love. Lisa Kudrow has always been a fun character who is full of varieties. Maybe we didn’t see it in FRIENDS but it was there when she took small indie movies where she had the freedom to experiment with her parts. She did almost 19 TV Series and 17 movies after FRIENDS. Also, she gave her voice in “BoJack Horseman” and 3 other movies. She did peak after FRIENDS and one of her standout characters was Mrs. Griffith in “Easy A”. If anyone on FRIENDS gets an Oscar, it might be Kudrow.
Matt was the cute dumb friend in the show, from which he made a mountain of money. He took every role he was offered until “Joey” when he learned and became careful about his choices. However, there are many theories about this that fans made but definitely, creators somehow thought it was not an important part of the show.
2. Where Did Ben Go After Emma’s Birth?
Ross had a son with his first wife, Carol. But, he always came across as an active parent in the early seasons of the show. Later it appeared that Ben spent most of the time with his mother and her wife, Susan. However, it seems like Ben stopped existing after Rachel and Ross had Emma. Even Ross’s father at one point forgot that he already had a grandchild before Emma. Ben didn’t even attend Ross and Emily’s wedding, despite being the reason behind Ross not moving out to England.
Ross is repeatedly said to be a great father. However, there are no competitions there as Ben has two mothers. But, Ben seemingly disappeared after Season 8 of the show. And not just Ben, it seems like all three of them just vanished. They were never mentioned except while talking about Ross’s first failed marriage. Most parts of Season 1 revolved around Ross becoming a father, but it didn’t get much of a priority after Emma’s birth.

The issue of money was raised regularly throughout the show. However, most of the time it had nothing to do with Phoebe. Chandler used to make a lot of money, Ross was comfortably employed, and Monica’s apartment is rent-free because the lease of the house is in her grandmother’s name. However, the show never explains how Phoebe was able to afford her lifestyle? How she managed to live in Greenwich Village on her own? Greenwich Village is the central and rather expensive area in Manhattan.

Nostalgia is the happy feeling you experience when something from the past holding some happy personal association comes up. FRIENDS and Central Perk and all the iconic elements from the show are something really close to every fan’s heart. Anything associated with FRIENDS can make a fan go nostalgic. And seeing the cast come together is the most blissful experience you can ask for this year. On top of that, the cast tells you stories from those good old days, it’s nothing but real happiness that you receive.
The interesting part about the delayed FRIENDS reunion special is that it flirts with the emotionally satisfying definition of nostalgia. The six main characters, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, and Matthew Perry return to talk about the show. The show that made them all enormous stars. Although that might be for a small span of time, their fates since then have diverged significantly.

When it comes to reunion special, we can’t approach it without a note of cynicism. As per The Hollywood Reporter, for all the hugging and all the crying, each of the six actors got an eye-popping $2.5 million to $3 million. Because without the money they would not have gathered anyway. As they say themselves in the reunion special that they haven’t all been together since the show ended, except for the one time which was not specified. These are people who got paid a collective $15 million to spend this precious time together.
One by one, we see them wander onto a re-creation of their set. It seems to genuinely make them emotional because places tend to provoke feelings and also they don’t see each other that much. Perry and LeBlanc sit in their Chandler-and-Joey recliners, LeBlanc remembers Cox writing lines on the table, and Kudrow and Schwimmer talk about a wooden post in Monica and Rachel’s apartment. They visit the dressing rooms where they all ate meals together for the first few years. However, they didn’t discuss why they stopped doing it.
Because all this was 17 years ago, there is sadness around the edges of these segments. Well, it began 27 years ago and ended 17 years ago. There’s no reason to believe that they would deny this as the best period of their lives. This show gave them the most commercial success they ever achieved. And without a doubt, it was an intense experience. What’s disappointing about the reunion is that it doesn’t fit with the dynamic of being both sweet and funny. Not everyone needed an actual retrospective extravaganza looking back at the show.
For more than a decade, FRIENDS is dominating the television industry in its own way. The reunion couldn’t possibly encapsulate everything but it could have touched some more elements like the times they failed or the things that went wrong. So it always feels like the reunion could have been better. They could have a lot more to make it better. So here we have listed some of the missed opportunities that could have been added to the reunion special:
While fans were thrilled to finally see the six friends getting back together, there was a bit of confusion about the list of the guest stars. There is a big list of guest stars who are missing for the FRIENDS reunion. Of course, some of the guest stars won’t come to the show because of the history between the guest stars and the main characters of the show such as we can’t expect Brad Pitt because of his too much history with Jennifer Aniston. Also, Aisha Tyler would not come back because of her issues with show co-creator Marta Kauffman.
It seems like some of the important guest stars are missing such as Paul Rudd and Cole Sprouse. Rudd joined the series in its ninth season as Mike Hannigan. He was the love interest for Lisa Kudrow’s character, Phoebe Buffay. And, Cole Sprouse played the part of Ross and Carol’s son, Ben. Being an important part of the show, they should be there to spill some beans. But sadly as mentioned by the creators they couldn’t make it to the sets on that particular day.
The best way to watch the reunion is as a psychodrama about the actors. The show’s finale aired in 2004. It’s been decades since they were on the show together and nothing in their lives looks the same. Matt LeBlanc’s failed “Joey” spinoff and he does increasingly resemble his “Episodes” character. Aniston never quite became the movie star as we have hoped, while her personal life dominated the tabloids. Courteney Cox appeared in a show you’ve probably never heard of, “Dirt”. Lisa Kudrow’s worked on “The Comeback” but hasn’t been appropriately lauded. David Schwimmer still looks like Robert Kardashian. As for Matthew Perry, he appeared off-kilter and anxious in the reunion.
Frankly, a conversation between the six of them without James Corden, where they could talk about the show, the enormous impact the show had on them, and the glimpses about their lives now would have been perfect.
3. So Little Time With Beloved Recurring Characters
There were tons of recurring characters and guest stars, who populated the FRIENDS universe over the course of ten seasons. We understand that to have them all back for the reunion would’ve been impossible. But, getting so little time with the people who popped in was a total buzz-killer. Maggie Wheeler stops by just to reveal that Janice’s laugh was born to break in scenes with Matthew Perry. James Michael Tyler Zooms in to just say that playing Gunther was “the most memorable ten years of life.”
And when it comes to Monica and Ross’s parents, Christina Pickles and Elliott Gould, they were out in the crowd during the more formal sit-down. While sitting in the audience, they tell a sweet story about how they really like the parents of the cast, and that’s about it. Nothing else! We just hope that they would have got a hug from the cast backstage.
4. Rectify The Mistake Of Mistreating Charles Bing
FRIENDS cast a cis female actor, Kathleen Turner in the role of a transgender person named Charles Bing. Turner played the role of Chandler’s father in the show. Chandler getting freaked about his father’s personality was truly disappointing and it did not end there. At the time of her cameo in the show, she wasn’t quite welcomed by the cast. She publically once said, “I remember I was wearing this difficult sequined gown and my high heels were absolutely killing me. I found it odd that none of the actors thought to offer me a seat.”
The characters of this much-loved series were such a clique. Their fear of same-sex relationships and homophobia was quite evident throughout the series. Little did we know that it existed in real life too. This is something that the show should have definitely acknowledge in the reunion special and maybe, even apologize for. And not just that, the cast lacked diversity and made really mean jokes which could have been addressed now in a better or apologetic way but they didn’t.
For 236 episodes, the cast of FRIENDS was there for each other just as much as they were there for its audience. Those who watched the original NBC run reminisced over their own 20s vicariously through them and hoped to someday grow up to be like them. For the audience, the show itself has become the seventh friend. The streaming of the series on various streaming services allowed its fans to watch it again, while others found it new for the first time and marked it as a piece of comfort television.

Peter DeLuise as Carl and Nicky Katt as Arthur were the ones who bullied Ross and Chandler in FRIENDS. They were guest stars who were invited to play this part as they were shooting some other project nearby. They agreed to do it and gave a wonderful performance. They gave us laughs and also highlighted a very important problem in everyone’s life. The scenes involving the bullies were hilarious and so we have it on our list.
2. Monica’s Secret Boyfriend
Can you ever forget Chandler’s special dance on the table? None of us ever can so it was ought to be featured in the list of hilarious scenes from FRIENDS. The way he gets excited after learning he’s the best Monica ever had was priceless. The immature behavior and the level of craziness were unexplainable. On top of that, Monica too tries to imitate the dance and surely took it a LEVEL HIGHER!
3. Ross Gives An Expensive Gift!
We know Ross was badly and madly in love with Rachel but sadly his love was not reciprocated in the beginning. It was bold of him to keep loving for so long because it’s really hard to do that. You might remember it vividly that on one of Rachel’s birthdays he couldn’t attend but managed to send her a gift through CVHandler and Joey. That was the moment that Rachel learned about the love which still burns in Ross’s heart.
4. The One Where Chandler Crosses The Line
Chandler’s crush on Kathy really challenges the viewer because as a matter of fact, we wanted them to be together but that is so wrong because they’re both cheating on Joey. This scene converts from flirting to hair-dressing and hair-dressing to kissing. In this scene, there was love between Chandler and Kathy, and most importantly there was guilt for cheating Joey. It was an emotion-packed scene.
5. The One With The Cleansing Ritual
This amazing scene is in the episode “The One With The Candy Hearts”. It is Valentine’s day and boys are the only ones who have got dates. So, as per Phoebe’s advice, the date-less girls start to perform a cleansing ritual. For this ritual, they begin to burn in keepsakes from boys they want to forget. However, Paolo’s grappa contains too much alcohol and it ignites fire aggressively, resulting in three hunky firemen to the apartment. The way girls feel that the ritual worked and they finally got the right guys were hilarious. And that is why it is on the top list.
New Year’s Eve came a little bit early on the first season of the series and it turns out that it is not a very happy New Year for the core group of six. They all were alone, it was almost midnight, and they have no one to kiss them when the ball drops. Chandler keeps screaming for someone to kiss him because he is quite upset. And like a true friend, Joey comes to the rescue, while Ross catches the moment on film.
7. The One Where Phoebe Meets Mike’s Parents
The entire journey of Mike and Phoebe’s relationship is amazing. But, the scene where Phoebe meets Mike’s parents is just another level. In the episode “The One With Ross’ Inappropriate Song” Mike introduced Phoebe to his parents. Phoebe being Phoebe, things weren’t going well between her and his parents. However, Mike accepts her craziness and they said they loved each other for the first time. With all her childhood stories, puking on his parent’s wardrobe, and their acceptance of love for each other, this scene became special.
8. The One With Monica And Her Fancy Plates
It is Thanksgiving Day and Rachel’s middle sister, Amy shows up to spend the night with the group at Monica and Chandler’s apartment. On the other hand, Chandler persuades Monica to use fancy plates this year for Thanksgiving and she agrees. Later, after dinner, Rachel and Amy get into a fight that results in breaking one of the fancy plates. After seeing this Chandler took charge of the situation and separates them. However, later Chandler goofs and smashes the entire set in pieces.
9. The One Where Chandler Gives A Lap Dance To Monica’s Father
This hilarious scene where Chandler gave a lap dance to Monica’s father is in the episode “The One With Phoebe’s Cookies”. Monica’s father invites Chandler and Ross to play racquetball so that he can bond with Chandler. After playing, they all went to the steam room to relax. But, Chandler sits on his lap accidentally while they’re both naked. Chandler’s reaction in this scene is the funniest.
10. The One Where Will Hates Rachel
At the Thanksgiving dinner, an old high school friend of Monica’s, Will is invited. But Monica is unaware that he isn’t exactly fond of Rachel. While Will is hating Rachel to date, she is immediately attracted to Will but unable to recognize him. Later, he announces that he hates Rachel, and back in high school days, he and Ross founded the “I Hate Rachel” club. Not just that, they also initiated a rumor that she was a hermaphrodite.
11. The One With The Blind Dates
Joey and Phoebe think that Ross and Rachel should get back together with Emma. But instead, Ross and Rachel ask them to find them a date. They purposely set both of them on horrible blind dates where Rachel’s date is a cry-baby and Ross’s date didn’t even show up. Ultimately, Ross and Rachel find out that what Phoebe and Joey have done. From Rachel’s cry-baby to Ross’s free crab cakes, everything was hilarious in this scene.
12. The One Where Chandler Was Used
Phoebe plans to celebrate her birthday at a fancy restaurant with her friends. Joey and Phoebe were waiting at the restaurant and meanwhile, Monica and Chandler have a big fight because Chandler smoked and didn’t really apologize. However, since Monica was ovulating, she wanted to try to have a baby, but Chandler denied it because of the quarrel between them. So, to trick him into bed, she acts as she has forgiven him. Afterward, when she tells him the truth, he feels used and they start fighting again.
